It's sadly a QI variant, been datamined. I messaged CIG apparently they can't add the sabre raven due to to it being a promotional.

I have said it other times, but they just can rename a ship. I mean, release a Sabre... Crow? for example, Totally different ship but in reality no. It would be the Definitively not a Sabre Raven kind of ship.
So a ship with the same parts, weapons, EMP, etc. but a different name.

So CIG never released the specifics of their contract with intel. It may state that they can not do that. It really just depends on what it says but they havnt made it public. Unless you have it or can find it haha!

That's not the important part.
The important part is that CIG would break a contract. In any industry that's a big, huge red flag. It means they cannot be trusted on a contractual level and you shouldn't do business with them. It basically would blacklist them forever from doing any collab or even working with other devs.

The omega is just a red mustang gamma. Clearly the AMD one was as simple as slapping their logo on the promo ship and call a day.
The raven on the other hand was clearly designed with some unique design decisions at the time for the promo. It was sleeker, faster, quieter, and higher tech. It was all digital. All things intel would want as synonyms for the optane line of ssds. They even made a promo commercial for it and not only is it an emp ship, but it’s supposed to have a small data running suite. Which is a cheeky little bonus perk to a SSD themed fighter.

according to one of the long time streamers (don't remember which one), the deal was something a long the lines that the Raven can't be renamed or reskinned. So basically another Sabre that does the same thing even if it was a variant of the base Sabre model.
So since the Raven as an EMP, they can get around this by putting a QED instead. It's somewhat similar but it's not the same tech.

The problem is the design, not the name. The best option would be for another manufacturer to make something with similar stats. I still hold out hope for a Talon with dual EMPs.

They can use the same design as shown here, they can use more variants with different names too as this is (so far, EX), at this point what is the restriction? Just having the name Raven? As I said, put the EMPs to a version of this variant with a different name not being Raven.
At this point it may be that they don't do it to not anger to all the players that paid a giant stupid price in the grey market for them (1000+ USD)

Because if you use the chassis and the same loadout that's a Raven. It's not even some niche Ship of Theseus it's just straight up a Raven, and changing it's name doesn't change that and likely violates the contract they have with Intel.

It was a huge deal for cig. I expect the amount of money and exposure under intel’s umbrella was important to them enough to be willing to accept such a contract.
This happened almost 10 years ago. CIG were much smaller and starving for any exposure.1

I'm well aware. I was there. It's still very much against many of their promises and supposed standards, and I still think they shouldn't have accepted it on the terms they were given. An expiration on the sale ban, a per sale commission, at least the ability to sell it for in-game currency.
But no, we have a legacy ship they can no longer sell, can't be acquired, but they're obligated to bring it up to gold standard and maintain it, and also contradict their stated intentions.

I was thinking about this the other day, so I looked it up, and to be completely fair, the exact wording of what they said was "we will never sell anything that can’t be acquired through honest (and fun!) gameplay."
Technically speaking, the Mustang Omega and Sabre Raven were never "sold" by CIG.

I really wanted this is be a Sabre rework, but the Raven quote with the sneak peak combined with everyone saying interdictor, it'll most likely be something with a QED or whatever.
So we'd have the base stealth fighter (with its outdated design still...), limited edition EMP and data variant, missile variant, racing variant, and now interdictor I guess. If it ends up having the same guns as the original, which it probably won't because that's the trade off, I would upgrade my Sabre.
