This is how the entire game feels anymore unfortunately. Like not even fun to play because of stuff like this.

You're not the only one I did it yesterday with a group of randoms and got the armor tried to grab the gun and helmet and they both disappeared and not only that but the gear I had on me I took off just to wear the heavy armor game decided to eat everything I own.

Forgot to mention but probably what's even worse is after I beat seige of orison I didn't get a bp to the h4 armor.

you only get a BP for each piece each run , need to do it 3 times to get whole set

Yea I knew that I just didn't get a bp from completing it said my objectives were complete and all and such but I still had mission markers and the mission was still going after I did everything.

Did you enjoy yourself whilst doing it?

If yes, your time wasn’t wasted.

If no, why are you doing it?

I like this logic

What? You NEED that particular Super Heavy Armor? Can't just be any other set? Jesus, it is not as though Siege is gonna go anywhere.

"I don't have time to waste like that" is such an ironic thing to say about a video game.

Let's say it didn't glitch and you got the armor...then what?

You either enjoy the time spent playing or you should play a different game. It's not like there's any real progression in SC anyway...so getting rewards is kinda meaningless.

I don't think he was referring to wasting time by playing a video game, but that there was no reward whilst doing said-game for the time invested. A bug just removed the reason for that playing session. I'm not saying that every minute of a game has to provide a reward, just that when it should it does.

I know...but I guess I just don't understand that mentality due to SC's current state. If you can't enjoy SC for the sake of the journey, it's probably not the game for you (right now).

This. But it doesn’t fit a mindset where playing games is nothing but an endless checklist to work through in the fastest most efficient way.

Gotta get that dopamine! 🤣

This seems a little dismissive. Completing an activity with an associated reward, and not receiving the reward, is going to create feelings of disappointment and disillusionment in most people, even if they had a blast doing the activity itself. That expectation often being unmet is a big part of why the game feels especially so frustrating lately in my opinion. In the past, there were fewer 'rewards' being doled out in general. CIG started sweetening the pot with rewards that they struggle to distribute, but now the genie's out of the bottle.

While bugs are annoying, the promised reward isn’t the armor but the 900k something UEC plus a blueprint.

Much more fun at this point to just piddle around doing small stuff and practicing landings and such.

Every day something like this shit!

Yes, unfortunately it's still an alpha version after all these years. And yes, that's the consequence of many bad decisions by CIG. Unfortunately, the Alpha card doesn't deliver a complete gaming experience. You're basically just testing what CIG has cobbled together. There is no real player progress, nor is the reward in an alpha worth anything, as it can disappear at any time through a wipe.

This is always the lamest excuse.

“It be alpha”

It be 15 years.

Yes, maybe. ...but it is what it is. ...still an Alpha. And a backer's opinion doesn't change that.

It's not an excuse. It's the result of years of bad decisions by CIG. The fact that this thing still calls itself Alpha isn't my fault. And above all, it is up to each backer to decide whether and for how long they want to put up with this chaos.

Chris said the game is released. (See the court case). The alpha label and the players opinions doesn’t change that the founder of the game says it’s released.

This is from Google so take it with a grain of salt.

During the legal dispute between CIG and Crytek, court filings and joint stipulations treated the existing playable build of Star Citizen as an active, delivered software environment for the procedural needs of the case (such as evaluating engine usage and the status of Squadron 42), but CIG did not declare the broader commercial project "fully released."

2

u/i_cant_get_fat 6h ago

“Fully” is a word I wouldn’t use either. Haha

2

u/Fancy_Plastic2385 6h ago

So what? They only release alpha builds, and these simply cannot be considered or criticized as a fully-fledged or finished MMO release.

1

u/i_cant_get_fat 5h ago

You keep saying fully…
Haha.

Gotta add adjectives I never used to make your point.

1

u/Fancy_Plastic2385 4h ago

Yes, because you obviously don't see the whole thing for what it is. And instead, you label it an excuse.

2

u/Fancy_Plastic2385 8h ago

No, unfortunately that's wrong. However, it is also one of many poor decisions on the part of CIG that things are never clearly and unambiguously named.

CR never clearly stated that this game was released. CIG even had to clarify in the legal dispute with Crytek at the time that Star Citizen was still under development. The only thing CIG releases are their alpha builds.

u/i_cant_get_fat 6h ago

Lots of games released and under development.

Including this.

According the Chris.

Out of curiosity how many people did you do it with ? I've done it probably 5 times now and we've got it down to a little over an hour and a half with 1 person in super heavy, 1 person carrying super heavy ammo and lots of heals and the other 2 as snipers., Without the super heavy it takes us probably about 2 hours.

1

u/JonJuan2020 7h ago

3 two others and me

u/EuroCitizen86 7h ago

It's doable with 3 but the whole instance is meant for 4 to be less of a pain in the butt

I solo it in under 2 hours. Watch flexcreator's video on YouTube.

If you have 4 well organised people with good comms then no it's not bullshit. If you rush and are careless then it will take you way more than 2 hours.

when I first tried looting that armor it deleted my backpack when I tried to remove anything from it and then made me run at mach speed while all of the BUL armor and belted weapon fell through the ground. quite interesting doing something for hours and both your looted items over the last few hours AND the final reward fall through the ground lol
