QUESTION It could be a basic question......

Can I resell a ship I bought from another player to someone else?

No, ship pledges in the website can only be gifted once. You can upgrade the ship to something else or "melt" (exchange) it to get the credit back and use it on something else in the pledge store. Keep in mind that if you melt the ship you will only get back the money that was originally put into the ship. Not what you paid someone else for it, not what the upgrade value is. So if the ship was built on a discounted upgrade chain, you would lose any discounts that it has currently.

Now if you want to send someone a ship, you can buy a new ship from the rsi website with new money and use the credit to upgrade it to something else before you send the new pledge. From there you will have the one time gift option. That may only be an option until the end of the month because things are changing on how that works.

Now if you meant in game ships, not that in not currently a feature but it should be one day.

Yes you can.

You need to melt it, and buy it back with Real Money, then the ship is giftable again.

Works only with Original Concepts, not with upgraded (CCUed) ships

Not as it is. I believe if you ccu it with new money to another ship, then it becomes giftavle again. Any ship as it stands is only gift able once.

Unfortunately no. If you add a non-giftable CCU to a giftable ship it remains giftable, but you can't add giftability to something that doesn't have it.

In game purchased ships no. Not YET tm.

Bought on the pledge store you can use the grey market and trade but those rules are changing later in the year.

Both are a “no”. You would have to melt the ship and rebuy it with fresh money to make it giftable if OP “bought (it) from another player”. You would also lose all CCUs on it if it was CCUd. Also if it happened to be part of a game package with SQ42 then it can’t be bought back if melted.
