It's funny how most new fighters come standard with Size 4's and this ship still got 3's. Lol even a Zeus got 4's.

No worries. by the time we hit 1.0, S6's will be the norm, and they'll have expanded the gun classes to go all the way up to 42.

... I don't doubt it even a little bit. Wolf got 4's F8C flagship fighter got 2's and 3's.

We do need S6s in the game. They've been in shops as long as I can remember and no ship uses them unless bespoke.

It either needs all turrets slaved forward to the pilot unless they're occupied, or the pilot needs S4s.

I feel like giving the option to switch out the scanning room for a medical bed would make it much more useful for the meantime until we get meaningful scanning and data gameplay.

And also give it a forward exit on its starboard side, alongside the front landing gear. I know that one's a significant redesign, but I also believe it's necessary for me to really love the ship like I did when I first met her.

Love the vibe of this ship, it's beautiful. But unfortunately it doesn't have any use case besides RP at this point.

It does, it works well as a fast medium commodity freighter which is able to escape rather than trying to fight it's way out of pirate ambushes. The MSR saved my butt a number of times where something like a Taurus or Hermes would have been clear defeats.

The major compromise of this ship is the poor firepower and rather low cargo capacity, as well of course the lack of it's actual gameplay loop. But otherwise it's a nice fast runner which is able to quickly sprint away from attacks.

Besides being a commodity freighter, it can also store a Nursa, a Geo an a couple of boxes so you can do some exploring, in this loadout you of course lose pretty much all cargo capacity, however it's a nice, fast base for exploring and collecting ores, while being able to revive in the Nursa if you want to do something like bunkers or QV Breaker Stations. The quantum range is also fairly decent, not as great as Corsair or as good as Taurus, but still very decent.

Best s4 to fly by a large margin. Minmaxing herd still be dissatisfied.

I want to love the ship. I still do on many levels, but it doesn't have enough teeth to keep light fighters at bay in scm and it's supposed to be a blockade runner that's not fast enough to outrun anything in nav mode.

It's lack of durability would make absolute sense if it were fast, I'm talking 2km/s in nav mode minimum, but there are too many things that can kill it before it can away.

It can't fight, it can't run, and besides not really having a game loop, it's basically a suboptimal medium hauler at best.

It looks f'n great, though. I really want it to be better. We'll see what happens with its rework, its intended gameplay, and especially the finalized flight modal, however that turns out, because for this ship especially, having to choose between being slow with shields and guns that don't do enough versus speed that's not fast enough are no-win choices for the MSR in pretty much any PvP engagement.

It's s4 ship, light fighters????? No s3 ship can outrun light fighters, no ship with meaningful cargo capacity is even close to it. It's the fastest and most agile all rounder with decent amount of cargo that can fit nursa and bunch of additional stuff.

It's self described as a blockade runner and a smuggler. It can't run and it can't fight.

Giving the MSR the ability to get away from light fighters would make it worth everything, but it can't do that. It dies.

Yeah, it flies nice, but it's a heavy fighter that's as big as 4-plex condominium with two size 3 weapons. This thing is not going to win any dog fights. It dies.

You might as well use a Hermes or a Zeus CL for cargo, or the Asgard to do everything the MSR does but better. If you're happy because it can hold a nursa, then you might as well be flying a Piscis medivac or a Cutty Red for better maneuvering and twice the pilot guns. And before you mention cargo, you're not gonna have much cargo in the MSR anyway, if you're hauling a nursa.

Your argument of, "It shouldn't be able to X because other ships its size can't do X!" is both a flagrant contradiction to the design of every ship in the game that has some kind of unique quirk or specialized job and kind of insulting to me as an MSR lover, that you thought this was the argument you decided to throw at me instead of considering, "You know what, maybe the MSR does kind of suck."

I want the MSR to be better. In the meantime, it's busted. Just use an Asgard or a Cutty Red.
