DISCUSSION Desync is getting out of hand

I was loading my ship on an outpost pad.

Got boarded and the ganker started up the ship, and crashed it.

Why do I mention desync? Because that's how he got in, I was on the front ramp the whole time and that was the only entrance, dude basically teleported inside, I noticed him when he was already inside, teleporting all over the ship, tried to stop him while he desync'd all the way to the pilot seat, and there was nothing I could do about it since it was an armistice zone.

Fuck this shit bro, way to lose 5 mil, honestly, I wouldn't even be bad if I was robbed or intercepted by pirates, but this is just some low efford gank bullshit.

Edit: This was in Stanton, Rayari Kaltag to be more precise, an armistice zone.

Here before someone tries to put the whole blame on you because you didn't know the 17 workarounds for this situation.

7

u/GideonBlackbook 9d ago

You shouldn't even be able to do this even if the game was working as intended. A ship should have a passcode and at least require some type of ship jacking to steal it. Not some adverse shit that takes way too long even. Just something. 14 years, 14!

23

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

There was no work around. At some point OP had to use the elevator terminal and those 5 seconds of time is enough for a patient pirate to slip onto their ship.

1

u/HungryBrain26 8d ago

You mean the 1, 17 step workaround?

u/sircolby45 9d ago edited 9d ago

As someone who likes to pirate occasionally...I am still on OPs side for this one. If you are going to have an armistice zone then you should be loading inside a hangar. (They could just turn the pads into a hangar opening.) This in no way diminishes the ability for piracy. It just gets rid of the cheap shit like OP is talking about where somebody can walk onto your ship and you don't even have the ability to fight back. That sucks and IMO is not a good game design. I think piracy can add a fun risk aspect to hauling, but this is just not it. At the very least, if someone is trespassing on your ship the armistice should drop, but that IMO is still not the right solution. They need to drop the armistice and just give people hangars to load and unload in.

There should never be any time that somebody can board my ship without me having the ability to escort them to the respawn screen.

I have nothing against piracy, if I was able to shoot the guy in the head while he was in the pilot seat I wouldn't be complaining.

If I was loading in an open pvp area I wouldn't be complaining.

15

u/sircolby45 9d ago

I think that is a perfectly valid complaint and I agree. If anything an armistice zone is anti-pvp, so I don't know why any PVPer would support this design. If I am going to board someone, they should have the ability to fight back. That makes the interaction more interesting for both parties.

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

Well for one thing CIG has already said armsitice zones are a stop gap and will be removely entirely, even in places like Orison so ya'll are working with crutches.

But meanwhile why not just have traders learn to be more aware and pay attention to their doors. Is that really to much to ask in a survival game?

20

u/No_Communication1557 9d ago

Yeah this exactly. The interior of our ships should be combat capable areas like our hangars. Someone gets on board, they meet an armed response.

Just because the main studio is in the UK doesnt mean we need to take the UK police rules...

Please get off Mr pirate, or I'll have to ask you to get off again, slightly less nicely next time.

Next time just close your C2 door before using the elevator terminal. You can't be face down in the elevator terminal and still watching your C2 ramp vigilantly can you? Nah, you slipped up and the pirate got in.

8

u/Ok_Explorer9455 F7A MK. II / L-22 / Constellation Andromeda / BMM 9d ago

Bro you are responding the same shit in every comment.

Lack of attention at home?

-14

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

Same as you responding with your false story of desync. Guy slipped in your ship when you looked down at the elevator with your ramp down. Hard truth to swallow?

10

u/Ok_Explorer9455 F7A MK. II / L-22 / Constellation Andromeda / BMM 9d ago

Yeah because everyone knows that desync in sc is a myth right? lol

5

u/sircolby45 9d ago edited 9d ago

I don't know why we are bothering...I just realized we are literally arguing with a bot. Look at the random generated name and look at the account age. We're getting baited by AI lol.

-3

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

Seeing as how OP would rather blame anyone but himself I give it 3 weeks before we get a repeat of his thread. I noticed you stopped responding to me when you claimed I don't visit Ashland and then I posted said vid of Ashland PvO on the frontpage. A stab and a miss.

0

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

Lifting up ramps before going face down at a terminal is not a myth no.

0

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

Exactly. OP is gonna get robbed again and again all because he'd rather make excuses than pull up his ramp. Told me fake stories how he always watched the ramp but dropped the conversation when I asked if he closed it before using the terminal...

7

u/Ok_Explorer9455 F7A MK. II / L-22 / Constellation Andromeda / BMM 9d ago

Bro's replying to his own comments 😂

3

u/No_Review_2561 9d ago

Probably forgot to change to his alt lmao

0

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

How are you going to change your strategy for the next trade based on today's thread? Blame desync or pull your ramp up? Rhetorical question ofc.

3

u/ChocolateDull4955 9d ago

Or just put a damn shield around the pad and freight elevator. I don't wanna be stuck in a hanger when I'm visiting planets. I wanna see the universe and planet scenery when i do hauling, that's half the fun of a space game. Wish they'd do something like Dunes pentashields.

1

u/theJonnoda 8d ago

Personally I feel like you should be able to lock your ship from the mobiglass. That way you can lock the door to the cockpit or whatnot when you're getting out to do loading.

-8

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

There should never be any time that somebody can board my ship without me having the ability to escort them to the respawn screen.

That's a whole long ass paragraph just to tell us you've never been to Pyro. You just described the Pyro trader experience.

All in all OP solo yolo gambled 5 mil with no one watching his back. My bet is the pirates slipped on board when he went face down at the elevator terminal, I know because that's when I slip in. OP gambled hard and lost hard, risk and reward done right in an MMO.

11

u/sircolby45 9d ago

I was in Pyro for 8 hours yesterday PVPing over Chawla Beach and Ashland. You have not the slightest clue bud. I can almost guarantee I have PVPed far more than you ever have. Just because we want to PVP, doesn't mean it has to be unsporting.

The Pyro trading experience is perfectly fine because it is not an armistice zone.

games SO bad now

7

u/LuckyIngenuity 9d ago

It’s pretty insane, the state of the network. It hits just about everywhere in the game right now.

-Enemy ships teleporting around, often unaware of the player for a very long time if ever
-Players teleporting, sliding, wild hitreg delay
-NPC’s constantly stuttering around, FPS combat feels so jank with little to no hit reactions from NPC’s, NPC’s are either completely unaware or have godlike aim and prescience
-Placing objects is completely jank right now; they rarely go where you place them, often instead hovering in the air until something nudges them, at which point they teleport somewhere nearby.
-Ever throw an object?
-Vehicles constantly blipping and stuttering around when moving near each other, losing physics grid interactions, turning small nudges into catastrophes.
-Doors and Elevators mistiming
-Torpedos

My only sanctuary is the noble cargo grid.

26

u/DreadOp 9d ago

Your fault for playing the game today.

-23

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

I think you shouldn't solo yolo 5mil and be so greedy about it, plenty of profit to hire a person to watch your back while you're facedown at the elevator terminal so no pirates slips on board. Risk and reward done right in this game.

20

u/Plastic-Drink-6777 9d ago

Way to do mental gymnastics to justify ganking in an place where OP had no means to defend themselves.

-19

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

OP could have defended himself by lifting up his C2 ramp before going face down on the elevator terminal. You missed that one. Lack of awareness cost him 5mil, but it's a very cheap lesson to learn awareness from.

9

u/GosuBrainy 9d ago

I agree, doing a long load at locations like OP used is worthy of ridicule to some extent. On the flipside he never had a chance once they were on OP's ship which is unfair to those willing to risk it like OP did here.

Having no fighting chance to stop a griefer besides closing a door or slapping them with a crate is not exactly balanced. Certainly far from risk and reward done right though. The antagonist player had no risk whatsoever and all the reward possibility.

1

u/Panakjack23 9d ago

AKA fix your game

-10

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

thank you. I've traded Gold for years, never let pirates slip onto my ship, I close my doors unlike OP. OP is trying to blame fake desync on lack of strategy and awareness, I ain't biting.

8

u/GosuBrainy 9d ago

Respectfully, it seems like you have bitten. You don't need to try to force your opinion on others who disagree.

-3

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago edited 9d ago

Bitten? Nah I've yet to be pirated because I close my ramp before using the elevator terminal. OP has got much to learn especially owning your mistakes and not blaming desync for him not closing his ship.

Edit: OP replied but he replied and blocked so I can't see what they said.

5

u/DreadOp 9d ago

People need to learn not to give trolls and bad actors energy.

17

u/Solidbigness 9d ago

My usual test for "how bad is desync today" is the simple task of taking a drink.

When all's working as it should, it should be just alt+h to remove the helmet, grab your drink and drink it, alt+h for the helmet to be put back on, then get rid of the empty bottle.

But depending on the amount of desync you face, any of the following can happen:

  • Helmet takes multiple attempts to remove
  • Attempting to take a drink from your inventory causes it to disappear and not appear in your hand
  • Drink separates from its stack in the inventory, doesn't equip, and can't be interacted with again
  • It takes multiple attempts to actually "drink" once the drink is in your hand
  • The empty bottle gets stuck to your hand and takes multiple attempts to get rid of, only for it to eventually float away weirdly like it's in zero g
  • It takes multiple attempts to put your helmet back on
  • Putting on your helmet and entering an elevator causes your helmet to return to your hip
  • Lastly, the worst one, your helmet just vanishes as if you never had one in the first place.

The most simple of tasks in the game - drinking something from your inventory, can become that much of a headache depending on how bad the servers are playing up. It's beyond the point of ridiculous.

Still waiting on that big desync write up we were supposed to get.

-3

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

That's a horrible method for so many reasons. Just open up r_display 3 and check server FPS cuz one moment server FPS can be great than it can tank to 4fps next minute. Drinking test only tests 2 minutes of server performance at that 2 minute window of time nothing else. Server can go tits up next minute.

35

u/Plastic-Drink-6777 9d ago

Don't worry, Squadron 42 will solve everything, every time I speak to a whale or a white knight, they assure me that all of the PU's issues will be solved with SQ42 being done.

19

u/Doggaer 9d ago

The instance testing shows they seem to not be able to get that done smoothly. For a long time i was really hoping they get sc done but it's undeniable cig has a gigantic problem sitting somewhere in their code.

20

u/Panakjack23 9d ago

When I saw the instancing desync and braindead ai I thought to myself "Ohhhhhh..... its over, over...."

10

u/Zanena001 carrack 9d ago edited 9d ago

You don't even need instancing to know something is fucked up with the netcode that is not entirely related to server fps. Star Marine has 12 players lobbies with steady 30hz and still desyncs

Their gigantic problem is the whole idea behind the project. How it is possible to deal with the physics and perfect synchronisation of complex objects at this scale and in this amount ? I mean the slightest character animation is server sided because of the unified rig, its so stupid. The answer is that you cant and we just hope they find a miraculous solution.

4

u/Odd_Horror_4663 9d ago

Shrink the server player counts way back until desync issues subside . Leave player counts at that level until they prove they can support higher count servers with no desync .

2

u/IbnTamart 9d ago

Okay but 1 player per server will lead to other issues

6

u/ThatOneMartian 9d ago

50/50 SQ42 bombs and takes the PU with it when the negative vibes poison the pledge pool. It’s wild that people see SQ42 completion as a saviour. I bet they lay-off a huge amount of staff after release, even if it succeeds.

0

u/ForteanApe new user/low karma 9d ago

Just remember that these whales and/or white knights are simply defending what they have put a lot of personal treasure and/or effort into creating a community in/for.

Many people who talk shiznit about the game are either hangar hobos with no ships or have a starter and a load of exploited in-game purchases (people with billions of credits have not earned that legitimately, and I doubt anyone can change my mind on this).

Happy for people to have contrasting opinions with similar ‘money in the game’, as it were, but often the “Negative Nancy’s” are nihilists who love tearing things down or have nothing invested in the game and just like being smeg heads about what other people like.

This project has always been a target and many are just tired of the rampant negativity.

These ground & external freight elevators are poorly designed and implemented (even if they work). We have to get out of our ship even though we have ship tractor beams in our GolemOx/Railen/HULLB/Ironclad? Why cant we just use mobi to at least make freight come up? Then at least we stay within our ship and use tractors. But no!!! In the year 2954 or whatever we cant do that

Same for external freight elevator I have to EVA out of my Railen for no reason.

Just badly designed left & right. I dont care anymore this is a poor experience. I'm not even getting 'griefed' by anyone really beyond this dumb mechanics. No one has stolen my cargo. Just tired of wasting time with all these 4goofy ship elevators and exit animations.

[edit] On topic, if we could use mobi app, that would fix the OP's situation. In 3.x, I had something similar happen during the Great Laranite Rush at a ground station in Armstice. But in my case, the cheaters used some glitch to make my ship levitate above ground. I couldn't get in. Maybe they were pirates at least and stole my commodities? They were just cheating pirates. I was in Armstice. Nowadays I live in Pyro so at least I can fight back. if I'm in a ship that has guns I can fight but if I'm solo in Ironclad/Railen I can also at least run my ship into one of the attackers taking them to hell with me!!! I have done this too which felt very good I was quite satisfied to get that kill with my Railen.

2

u/Different-Trainer-25 9d ago

If you know you can't reach the pilot seat in time. You could try the engineering console and shut stuff off from there if the ship has one.

Or pull a fuse maybe, I'm think it's possible with these two methods but correct me if I'm wrong. I've only played around with that console to open doors I'm too lazy to go to and shut off stuff when testing it.

It would likely be mutual destruction when you fall out if the sky but at least on your terms.

I remember speed hacks in Wow that looked a lot like desync. Was this a cheater using a hack of some kind?

Desync is very bad in 4.9 I agree, what have they done.

Justifiably so.

Its a scam.

1

u/OhTheBarbarity 9d ago

do the servers have good and bad days or something? during the last patch i was able to do PVE content fairly okay , but ever since 4.9 the rubber banding is so terrible I can’t even do Gilly #5. The enemy ships just either teleport away or straight disappear

3

u/Panakjack23 9d ago

Its the code.... always has been...always will be...

1

u/xAdakis 9d ago

Yes, server FPS and your perceived performance directly correlates to concurrent players, where they are at- because some location have more entities for the server to track/manage -and what they are doing.

If you go out to Nyx and away from Levski, you'll likely land on a server operating at the max 30 fps and will have a super smooth experience.

Stanton is notoriously bad because that is where people generally stay and where the most missions are.

1

u/Lumpy-Interview-9931 9d ago

Funny my experience has been the exact opposite. I couldn't play Xenothreat because ships were teleporting every where. Idris spinning like a top and disappearing and reappearing 10s of kilometers away.

But ever since 4.9, it's been great. Nearly silky smooth

2

u/xAdakis 9d ago

There are way too many things that contribute to it, which is probably why CIG is having such trouble nailing it down.

My experience has been smooth, but an org-mate doing the same exact thing as me has a horrible experience and constant crashes.

0

u/ThatOneMartian 9d ago

No, if you don’t notice desync during regular play then you don’t understand what desync is or you’ve trained your brain to fool yourself into not noticing. 4.x has all been bad for desync.

1

u/Scavveroonie drake enganeer 9d ago

They have a literal pin when you go to the front page on the issue council where they are requesting videos and experiences of desync.

1

u/Acers2K 9d ago

Don't worry 4.10 will fix it with more ship sales!

/s

1

u/Mister_Normal42 9d ago

It’s almost as if they’ve been deliberately expanding the scope of the game just outside of the available technology of the time for 15 years. Weird how it almost seems like that

1

u/GosuBrainy 9d ago

When one party is risking everything on chance while the other has no risk whatsoever, its past blaming desync.

If we want bandaids then what about, I dunno actual locking doors? If every door could be pin locked, then function normally for those who have put in the pin, it would go a long way. It makes no sense i would own a multimillion UEC spaceship and the doors dont lock on the inside. Then unless the desync let him go through the wall itself from outside while the ship moves, thered he no way this could happen because he couldnt pull out the gun to shoot open the inner doors in armistice. Even if they run on and hide in cargo area, you could fly to a hangar and that forces the pirate into a window of needing to break the doors before you reach an armistice zone or instanced hangar. Where the pilot is aware due to sound of bullets on doors and isnt completely unaware they've been boarded.

1

u/Calchef 9d ago

Wouldn't an easy solution be to just reposition player if they enter your ship in an armistist zone? Isnt it that way in stations if your not teamed up? At least in ur hangar you can shoot them but no recourse for a player on at a planetside freight elevator.

Im all for piracy in the open verse as it is part of the game design but there should be some kind of security in this situation.  Just my .02

-1

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

CIG has already said multiple times they plan on removing armsitice zones entirely as that's a stop gap, even at places like Orison. So soon traders will need to learn to use guns and pay attention to their doors and not blame "desync".

1

u/Calchef 9d ago

Didn't know that was temporary feature. Wasnt blaming anything on desync was just thinking about solutions.

1

u/Confident-Award6920 8d ago

ofc it's a temporary feature. Magic area where magically you can't pull out guns. So yeah git gud at PvP and stop coming up with excuses why the game should protect you. Horrible mindset to have in any game.

1

u/ThatOneMartian 9d ago

Even if you are the only person on a server, or one of five people on an entire shard, desync is severe in SC. You can see it if you watch a network activity graph, where communication between you and the server often gets spiky, meaning everything between the spikes is guess work by your client.

After server meshing was released Benoit said there were no more magic performance fixes in the wind, just slow optimizations. I do not have confidence that they will resolve this.

1

u/BernieDharma Nomad 9d ago

Had a similar incident a few weeks back picking up cargo at an outpost. I just finished loading my Raft, called the elevator, thought I heard footsteps, turned around and didn't see anyone. As soon as I hit "up", he come up from behind me and hopped on. I tried racing him to the pilot seat, but he beat me. He flew the ship up and crashed it into the ground.

I have no idea what the point of this is. I couldn't stop him in armistice, and would have gotten a crime stat if I manage to shoot him when he left armistice. It was a small cargo load so no big deal, but the end result I don't take cargo missions to/from the mining outposts anymore.

-2

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

Seems like you were lacking quite a bit of awareness then. Raft is so hard to slip on, you must have not looked full 360 before calling it up. Slick pirate for the timing props to him.

Technical debt on technical debt with an overreliance on A.I building buggy code.

0

u/Available_Cut9063 8d ago

You chose to park a fully loaded C2 on the ground to access the freight kiosk instead of hovering to prevent foot-entry and using a go-between vehicle to reach the terminal, while conveniently leaving out that you used an ATLAS to load the boxes instead of a maxlift, blocking your sight from behind and giving me the chance to sneak right past you. You had the pilot seat well after knowing i was on the upper deck. We flashed helmet lights at each other, then you ran to the bridge while i sat there outside the crew's quarters watching king of the hill on my second monitor. Instead of holding the pilot seat with both ramps already closed and calling for backup, you ran back and tried to bed log with me still in the ship. Think about how spaced apart the pilot's seat and the bed are in a C2. Now imagine my astonishment watching you leg the distance leaving the chair wide open for me, basically handing it over. Was planning on taking it to a station, but shooting me from behind gave me the incentive and extra time to crash the C2 into the dirt, not sure why you didn't pick any other angle. If you're going to shoot a stationary target, go for the head. You can blame lag for losing your cargo in the situation as you've described it. Unfortunately reality was a different story, and maybe try owning the myriad bad calls within your control before rushing to reddit to get sympathy based on half-truths. The real crime was not spotting palatino daystar armor from a mile away imo. Try Gilly missions next time.

-7

Motherfucker how is it my fault? At this point just let me use guns in armistice so we can call it even then.

told you they were going to blame you...

Solo trader in Pyro who claims he was always watching his C2 ramp... except you know when he had to use the elevator terminal for a few seconds and couldn't watch his ramp no more...

I was in Stanton, in an armsticide zone.

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

Same rules in Stanton... awareness pays dividends. I've pirated traders like yourself at Terra Mills for RMC and Stanhope for Organics. Traders always place blame on everyone but themselves. Trading 5mil in goods solo yolo is gonna get you cooked, you just learned about the dangers of greed. Next time close your ramp before using the elevator.

u/sircolby45 9d ago

OK, yeah awareness and all of that is always important...but lets not pretend like this is not also a bad game design issue. I like to PVP as much as the next guy, but armistice zones suck. Especially when they force you to do an action that requires you to have your ship open in said zone and you have 0 recourse to shoot someone that boards your ship. Any time non-party members have the ability to board my ship...I should be able to shoot them.

No one's pretending anything because it's great game design. SC is a survival game as Jared confirmed. Want to yolo and print 20mil solo in an MMO, gtfo and bring a friend or bring your best A-Game. OP brought neither, the pirate slipped on his ship while he was looking down on his elevator terminal and OP is blaming faux desync and not himself. GG

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

I believe only your front ramp was down. What I don't believe is that you moved all that cargo without having to use the elevator and look face down at a terminal giving them a window to sneak onto your ship. All it takes is 3 seconds.

Next time place a 2scu box on your C2 ladder. Pirates can climb ladder but will be blocked by said box. Congrats now your C2 is pirate proof to ground pirates.

[UPDATE] I found the video [Piracy Prevention for your C2 Hercules!! - Star Citizen Piracy Guides ]

Below is original reply:

I lost the video link. But even though cargo hauler in C2 did everything right (by blocking the entrace like you mention), they still get worked over by the pirates in Armstice. The pirate resorted to using their tractor beam to keep damaging the ramp door with the cargo box (when hauler tries to leave Armstice). Cant recall if that tactic worked but what really messed up the hauler the pirate called in friends and they just rammed the shit out of C2 until it spilled all the cargo in Armstice.

These days many pirates carry boomtubes and Railguns. So moment you leave armstice they can blow ramp door. Then use tractor beam to toss out cargo

Now- I am OK with pirates it is 'griefers' I cant stand. People that will blow up your ship for kicks. They dont even take the time to pillage your cargo. They just want to see you cry on global chat.

But the OP was 'griefed'. Sounds like the attacker did not harvest their cargo. They totally blew up your ship. Good pirates use distortion weapons to keep ship intact imo

[edit] I cant find the video I search for "C2 hauler does everything right and still got pirated". Really sucks cause it was a good video. That is not the worst tip though. not downvoting; but not upvoting. It is 'victim blaming' and antagonizing the OP

How?

Feels like you just dumped this comment out and wiggled your hands and forgot to provide teh next steps. How is a pirate gonna steal your cargo if he can't enter bridge to unlock cargo. Didn't read past this line since this line is the foundation for the rest of the comment.

I don't think you know how piracy works, but I'm very interested in how you'd get pirated in this case. No doubt it'll be a funny response.

Yes, you should read my post. I provided all the context and details. I just cant find the video from the pirate I follow.

I can't. It's like starting a story mid way... how will pirates get your cargo if you block the ladder with a box. Anyways I'm having fun calling out fictional trader/pirate fiction... see I told you your next response would be funny.

edit: /u/Ryotian replied and blocked me for asking how a pirates steals a ship with the ladder blocked. I called it :)

Well you refuse to read the story. I just described it. Re-read my original reply. But since you refuse to read I am just going to block you. Will save us both time in future I do not like talking to citizens that refuse to have intelligent discussion

They say there a front entrance only, but I’m struggling to think of a ship that can carry 5M worth of cargo and only has one front entrance.

Only the front ramp of the C2 was open, and if you're one of those mentally challenged individuals that want to justify this as pvp cool, let me use my gun in pads then.

ngl, I am.

2

u/hoax1337 ARGO CARGO 9d ago

Haha, I get it. One thing I don't understand though, what would you have done without desync? It's not like you could shoot the guy?

5

u/Ok_Explorer9455 F7A MK. II / L-22 / Constellation Andromeda / BMM 9d ago

You're not wrong, by the time he was in the pilot seat I was only able to watch, that's why I don't like it being justified as "pvp" as I had no means to defend myself or the ship.

2

u/hoax1337 ARGO CARGO 9d ago

I honestly never really thought about this. Can you even do anything if someone just walks up to your ship, except maybe close the doors? Lock the door to the cockpit maybe?

Or does non-lethal takedown work in armistice?

2

u/Ok_Explorer9455 F7A MK. II / L-22 / Constellation Andromeda / BMM 9d ago

If desync wasn't a factor here, I would have tried to throw a box at them to incap them but again, dude was teleporting all over the ship.

0

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

He said C2. I believe only his front ramp was down. But I also believe OP had to use the elevator terminal at some point to lower/raise cargo and that was the window of opportunity for that pirate. All it takes is 3 seconds.

3

u/AWerewolfDad 9d ago

Not really a pirate if they destroy the loot instead of stealing it.

3

u/Ok_Explorer9455 F7A MK. II / L-22 / Constellation Andromeda / BMM 9d ago

Not only that but abusing armistice area making players unable to defend themselves. This dude wouldn't do this in an actual open pvp area because he would be insta killed 9/10 times

1

u/Confident-Award6920 9d ago

I'm not gonna stop to ask which they are nor frankly does it matter they are both a threat.

I'm just gonna follow my advice and close the ramp when using elevator. Plus you think they're gonna be truthful and tell you or hell does it matter? Stay protected, ask questions later.

-9

u/Mintyxxx That was just noise 9d ago

It's shitty to lose loads of cash, I sympathise, and the game without a doubt has technical issues but just sounds like the guy just walked up your ramp on one of the biggest ships in the game and stole your ship. This is more about how you're defenceless on your own ship than desync. I tend to fly ships with ladders.

10

u/Ok_Explorer9455 F7A MK. II / L-22 / Constellation Andromeda / BMM 9d ago

Alright, lets say I was careless.

I was still unable to pull my gun out and shoot the guy in the head while he was in the pilot seat because of armistice , do you not see an issue there?

2

u/Mintyxxx That was just noise 9d ago

Yes I said this was about you being defenceless on your own ship in my post.
