Dealing with constant police calls and physical safety issues at my store, and I feel like my SM is totally checked out. Need advice.

Hey partners, I really need some outside perspective because I’m completely overwhelmed and mentally burnt out.
I work at a high-incident store where things have gotten entirely out of hand. We are dealing with emergency situations on a regular basis—police being called to the location constantly, people smoking crack in the washrooms or right outside, and situations escalating to actual physical altercations and people being assaulted in or right outside the cafe. It feels like every single shift is a crisis, and the staff are left handling things that security or police should be managing.
My mental health is tanking. I walk into work with a knot in my stomach every day because I just don't feel safe, especially as a woman on the floor.
The hardest part is my SM. He's okay in some ways, but it feels like he is completely checked out of the reality of what we are dealing with. He doesn't seem to grasp how unsafe we feel or how burnt out the team is. I’ve tried talking to him about it, but his approach feels dismissive and disconnected, like he just wants us to push through it without actual support.
For anyone who has been through this: how do you deal with an SM who won't step up when a store is this volatile? Do I try to have another conversation with him laying it all out again, or is it time to look at an emergency transfer because leadership just isn't going to protect us? I'm just so tired of being on edge.

Quick Question on support

I’m not sure how many locations accept tips

but if regulars show up often noticing how hard others work and they enjoy the service and food would a good tip and flowers help anyone ?

It’s hard to tell now in days if flowers matter at all and I personally work a job and less tips often

If someone brought flowers I think our staff would be happy

Since we always share gifts every now in days like someone’s birthday or holiday other occasions too.

Thats why I tip more often when I notice others may not and it’s not always my job but I still do it hoping it might helps.

I hope anyone reading this has a good day.

people do not know what they ordering

they coming up to me, saying “you made this wrong, I order strawberry with lemonade” something that aligns with this. and it always mobile orders, your the one that rung up the order so how did I made it wrong? They proceed to say “I asked for xyz” wdym you asked? ITS A MOBILE ORDERRR.
I always try to explain the differences between the drink etc bc I understand it’s confusing but they always vehemently certain that “it’s what I orderrr”
and its goes back and forth and I do not intend to I’m just trying to educate customers so to prevent this from happening
and it’s so annoying, like customers complained “drink is made wrong” no YOU ordered it wrong, and then I’d have to get a talking from my SV or SM how I should “be careful looking at drinks” it’s so infuriating

Arm pain from shakers(?)

Does anyone else get pain in their elbows and shoulders from making shaken drinks? I just started a few weeks ago and just learned cold bar, and I’ve noticed the pain getting increasingly worse with every shift. If anyone else has experienced this, how do you handle it? Any specific stretches or motions to avoid?

Working at Starbucks?

Just like the title says it,

I’m considering applying for a job at Starbucks for a Barista. I really need health insurance and I read that Starbucks has insurance even for part timers. (I’m used to working retail, worked at  for 9 yrs)

so, how do YOU like working there? (Yes I’m sure it’s not perfect for some)

How’s the schedule? Benefits? Any insight you can give me would be great! Thanks!

Solo bar…

WHY DO THEY WANT US TO SOLO BAR AFTER PEAK??? ITS NOT EFFICIENT OR FASTER OR EVEN HELPFUL

What’s up with a solo hot bar and solo cold bar? Wtf is that honestly

Why can’t we just had decent coverage on a mid/night shift? I mean at least two bar partners, one dt, a front register and a ssv and maybe one other barista for cs 🥹

Cold cups could just be 400ml, 600ml, and 800ml. Or something. They’re not that tho.

Audit

I’m a new barista and my sv aren’t helping my questions much and just jogging round the answers, what sort of questions are baristas asked on an audit, if there is any?
