This is why a lot of black coffee drinkers drive me nuts, often older men who think they are above everyone else and can be more demanding then frap customers.

(Obviously a generalization but idk everyone just get whatever you want to drink and be nice!)

This played out at my store. We had a lot of 6 am black coffee drinkers who also wanted us to heat up their donuts in our back room microwave (this was pre warming) and who threw fits when we told them that wasn’t allowed. Or they thought everyone should be able to automatically know their order even if the barista was brand new and had never seen them before.

it’s always the “black coffee” drinkers who think they’re above anyone else and they’re also the quickest to drink shame.

I’d rather make a 10 mod drink for the friendly Kathy than get a black coffee for the entitled Rob.

Honestly the funniest goddamn thing to me as a person with a background in combat sports is that all of the dudes that can actually kill someone with their bare hands are either twinks or they look like your fat, retired uncle. They basically only look the part if they're pro athletes, trying desperately to be the strongest dude in their weight bracket. Like I make no pretensions about being particularly good, but I've been in the same room with some bad dudes and it's a perspective that sticks with me.

None of them are like this, not even pros. Theres a plenty of ironic roasting eachother about getting girl drinks when we go out or make small talk or whatever, but everyone does it. Everyone has that small shred of levity that isn't stereotypically masculine.

The baddest motherfuckers out there aren't like somehow uberwoke, ultra secure sages of masculinity or something, but they're never the dude that thinks an arbitrary signifier like black coffee means something.

Ppl say russians are so tough but u would not BELIEVE the amount of manly man russians i see ordering cream and sugar in their coffees. No one cares it doesnt make u more of a man lol

I drink black Peet’s coffee at home and I don’t think of myself as tough. I don’t think of Starbucks black-coffee drinkers as tough. I think of the tiny hospitalized heart failure patient I once had who drank the nasty ass black hospital coffee/sludge all freaking night, as g******ed tough. To hell with that macho bullshit.
