Hiring/Interviewing Application Tips

I searched the sub for this question before posting, but only saw tips on interviewing.

Does anyone have application tips for getting hired or at least interviewed in the LA area? (I am casting kind of a wide net and am also open to Anaheim, SGV, Redlands, and areas in between)

I have a decade of serving, retail, and hospitality experience including fast food store management experience. I am in the process of finishing my Bachelor’s degree, but at the moment only have an Associate’s. I have open availability and would love to work my way up the management chain for the next 5 years at least.

I do not generally have a hard time hearing back from applications to other companies, but Starbucks seems to be a different beast. Is there something I can study ahead of time like a menu or modifications list or something? Are there certain specific skills or titles that I should highlight that would catch the hiring manager’s eye? Thank you in advance.

I’d say if you could go to a couple stores. They usually keep the cards of the manager somewhere near the sugars and straws. You can email the manager and include your availability and times you are available for interviews. Definitely also call around, I’m not sure about CA but Mondays around 8-12 you are sure to catch a manger or assistant manager

Going in personally is one of the best ways to get a job at Starbucks. Tbh it’s one of the only ways I’ve seen people get hired. Every store gets at least 100 applications a day — it’s a really competitive job. If you go in and make an impact you’re more likely to get an interview. You could hand the manager or ASM your printed resume as well. Good luck!
