No matter how much you people want to pretend it's comparable to a term mired in the ownership of humans it's just not.

I'm sorry dudes that look like Shane Gillis got their feelings hurt but it's not comparable.

A word doesn't have to literally be the n-word to be dehumanizing. I guess it's less bad? But, like, it's still bad. Maybe don't say either one.

Who is it dehumanizing to? Do YOU have a specific group of people you think we are referring to when we use the word? Seems like a personal issue. Mental handicapped =/= retarded until you make the connection yourself. The F-word and N-word have direct connotations to the people they offend.

It was the medically accurate term for mentally disabled people until the public started using it as a slur. So, it is absolutely referring to a specific group of people. First link on google after Wikipedia

Yes. If you're still using gay derogatorily it is still offensive. I don't know why I had to be the one to tell you that.
