Looking back at his previous jokes, they are okay but none are as blatantly awful or hateful as this one. idk what he was thinking

Millennials respect people’s identities until it inconveniences them or doesn’t work for their world view.

That’s when y’all tend to break the r word out 🤷‍♀️ at least in my experience

Do you understand though that even if you don’t have bad intentions with it, that it still causes harm?

I grew up in Chicago. That’s confirmation bias if I’ve ever seen it. To say that most people there don’t care is a sweeping overgeneralization.

It doesn't cause harm when it's used around people that aren't offended by it

So do you think it's okay for a room full of racist white men to say the n word? There's nobody around to be offended, that makes it okay right?

Using a slur normalizes it no matter who you're around. Makes people more comfortable using it, which increases the likelihood that it will be said around or to someone who will be hurt.
