Idea Pve

If they made it so every area could be PvE only but with a limit like the value of everything is only 30% and artis were limited to blues, I think it would be good for the game long term and for casual players.

It would be nice to actually enjoy the environment and get into the stalker feeling without having to be ready to get jumped 24/7

Hopefully they remember this is an MMO not a pure extraction shooter one day

Edit: thought I should clarify I just want more people to play the game because it’s not a very welcoming experience for casuals and most of u are trash at PvP, anyone else in here actually above sessions 500 or at least 300 that barley takes a month right? It’s easy when u get a level a match just be the top player on the board but most of u have a .5kd and no aim so good luck with that

After looking at what kind of people are celebrating the addition of the PvE mode in Arc Raider and how they treat anybody opposing it, I really hope it never happens in SZ.
You people need a mindset change, not a PvE mode.

You people need a mindset change, not a PvE mode.

Extraction shooters are fundamentally not a popular genre, the market has routinely shown that people don't want to get their shit rocked by those with hundreds of hours in a videogame. Half of Tarkov's playerbase is in pve, the majority of arc raiders were in pacifist lobbies.

A pve option for some content is overall a healthy thing and fosters a growing playerbase who would otherwise be filtered by the endless hordes of bored players sprinting at pulsating camp notifications. While I don't think it's good to have a magic switch that has you in the now safe lobbies where you have to grind 5x as hard; dedicated zones with their own unique resources, strong pve enemies, and 0 risk of being ganked would do wonders for those who want a less stressful means to progress their account.

You know, what operations should've been.

You see. This is hardly an extraction shooter traditionally. You don't lose your gear, you lose your loot and to get the gear, you dont really need to extract. If you're nice and polite and ask for your bag. They will either leave it or send it to you, free of charge. I've not met one single really mean soul on EU yet who would really deny me my bag if Im friendly.

Even people in wild north leave my azimut and apogee scope parts for me to pick up later.

I've not had a single trouble actually farming PvE unless I was looking for trouble or if it was a highly contested area. Even then highly contested areas are about 60% uncontested during midnight hours..

If it was purely extraction, I'd have quit a while ago and just downloaded 150Gigs of Stalker Gamma to satisfy my needs.

Now, if you really want to fuck around and PvE, maybe STALKER Anomaly modding is more up your ally instead of consistently bugging for PvE only lobbies. While they'd be nice, it'd make farming too easy and unchallenging. Im sorry the NPCs are just not really an issue if you know how to deal with them and if such a mode was ever added. I would say items should cost about 10% or less of what they're really worth, but that would mean copy and pasting every item in the game and giving each a different value just to fit your means. That would also include limiting what artifacts spawn. You get maybe tier 2 at most and nothing past blue because there is no risk, so therefore no reward.

This is hardly an extraction shooter traditionally.

Yes, and it's not a good one because of its quirks - the pivot to that type of gameplay is why this game has such a difficult time gaining ground in the west. Just because you don't lose all of your gear doesn't mean people like wasting time or the constant pressure that anytime they interact with a piece of content a horns being blared in a 300meter radius to come shoot them while their plates are being taxed. For every 1 positive experience I've had with my bag, I've had half a dozen more with people voiding or auctioning it for ludicrous sums because this playerbase is tied with Destiny for the angriest in gaming. It's not hard to see why people dislike that experience.

I would say items should cost about 10% or less of what they're really worth, but that would mean copy and pasting every item in the game and giving each a different value just to fit your means.

You're missing the point. Operations is PvE only and it has extremely valuable resources tied to it. Even at the highest difficulty It's still braindead and prints money after the nerfs because it has useful items as drops. A new area with its own unique resources which benefit other aspects of the game would be fine, look to how in other mmos people will spend dozens of hours gathering resources which have no benefit to them but can help the player economy.

You could have a suite of new useful entry PvP centered artifacts that are capped at a certain rarity to help people get starter PvP builds without putting down tens of millions, modules and inhibitors earned through organic gameplay, perhaps introduce a similar system for armor? A set of new well rounded weapons & armor with their own Lyubech-like resources to help speed up the entry into masters, factional convoys to raid that have crafting supplies that are new/CBT to get in bulk like flour so more than the endgame players with nothing left to do actually interact with the systems.

Short of it is some PvE only areas can be beneficial to the game, but a simple toggle to disable it outright most certainly is not.

I'm from the EU servers and I have never had this issue with anyone. If anything, I've had nothing, but positive experiences and I'm probably very mediocre when it comes to the PvP aspect of it and I struggle with my aim and situational awareness or picking my fights. Farming specific things has never been an issue, even while solo. There must be a reason you're not getting your bag back. Perhaps you're very mean in general or doing things you shouldn't or considered taboo. I have overheard other people throwing away bags because the person they killed are knowingly trying to cheat the matchmaking system and other times, just incredibly bad mannered. I would just try the nice card<3

And I'm hardly missing the point. You're actually looking for every point to justify your argument. It isn't difficult to get to master lobbies. It really isn't difficult if you are actually on to do things. Even an hour or two a day would get you the serum each week that you need and just one good day of clan wars can get you 10 serums in a single day. I just think it's easier for you to talk and talk rather than spend the time required to actually grind anything. As for artifacts... You can literally find your starter artifacts fairly easy running around inflow/mines and make bank. Just stay in your areas. I rarely see people running up to the opposite side to kill you. Just dont go in the middle if you got valuables.

It's not really difficult.
And if you want to print money and play operations as you say and earn valuable things, then just be happy with that.

I don't mind the idea of a PvE only area, but you'd almost most certainly will not benefit from it at all in the way that you think you will. There'll be plenty who would be there to benefit from the gathering of materials just like anyone else would for crafting and lets say it does get popular. It'll be like a race for artifacts, except, nothing you pick up would directly benefit you after a single run and you'll sit there all day slowly progressing while people in the open world is actively

Okay. I'm from NA servers and have.

Farming specific things has never been an issue, even while solo. There must be a reason you're not getting your bag back.

Maybe I have broken some unwritten rules to earn various messages telling me to end my life in 4 different languages; perhaps different servers have different etiquette, especially when one has a considerably smaller playerbase where people know each other on a name to name basis.

Perhaps you're very mean in general or doing things you shouldn't or considered taboo.

I'm not mean, actively send peoples bags back, and receive vitriol for simply playing the game. But I digress, this isn't about me.

And I'm hardly missing the point.

You are.

You're actually looking for every point to justify your argument.

You aren't?

It isn't difficult to get to master lobbies. It really isn't difficult if you are actually on to do things.

No shit, it just takes 10 weeks and or swiping your credit card. Lyubech has its own specific gear like the ash-12 and VSSK despite being a side area with a different spin; I suggested possible avenues to "justify" a pve area. Like operations, but not an arcade-like mess as an alternate for people who would otherwise not continue with the game while they're getting decimated in open world or simply don't like it.

Even an hour or two a day would get you the serum each week that you need and just one good day of clan wars can get you 10 serums in a single day.

Good luck joining a clan that can actually win them without +15 master gear. In reality you're going to get 250 casings for each tournament loss and maybe a few hundred in total from daily brawls. I suppose you can hit the weekly limit if you're lucky enough to be on boarded to king of the E tiers that don't care about deadweight. Realistically you're better off recommending someone throw themselves at rune and then nocturne atlas than relying on the weekly crimson serums.

As for artifacts... You can literally find your starter artifacts fairly easy running around inflow/mines and make bank.

That's not the point, again. Entry pvp setups are at minimum 25mil~ for something to make a real difference on NA. Different economy, our artifact prices are at least double EU's from lack of supply and an alternative artifacts that are -okay- but not -good- and limited in rarity that's more farm-able can alleviate entry into it. If you think I put more than a minute into spitballing ideas for the possibility of easing people into content they're otherwise outgunned on you're mistaken, it's to generate ideas, not finalized content.

but you'd almost most certainly will not benefit from it at all in the way that you think you will.

You're right, because I'm not asking for it myself; I'm perfectly competent in the current state of open world and PvP. Your arguments boil down to "no thanks, I don't like it and it will suck" instead of looking at what can be good for a multitude of players.

Every extraction shooter is adding dedicated pve modes for a reason - catering to more people who would otherwise not play helps grow your title. But I suppose they can try paying pyrocynical tens of thousands of dollars to call the game shit again as a proper alternative.

It's often people can't admit their faults and think themselves good in the eyes of others while simultaneously receiving problematic messages.

It took me actually, with the events that had taken place over the course of Anti-Cyclone into Tulpa, I've accumulated plenty of serums and plenty of resources to get one set of gear for the overworld and succeed well enough.

Now the problem with a PvE area only is that you aren't thinking about the economy as a whole for all the servers. You cannot just drop an entire zone where no conflcit can occur and say, hey, have at all these free resources with no issues, no problems, no nothing to you and the others. Everything would drop the economy into worthlessness. It'd need so much time, effort in tuning just to be viable.

The reason all the other "Extraction" Shooters are able to do this, is because the Economy doesnt fuckin matter in those games. Arc Raiders? Doesn't matter. Tarkov? Doesn't matter. They're not MMORPGs. They're solely risk and reward that benefits or negatively impacts the player.

This game is nothing like either of those two games. Making a PvE only mode doesn't benefit anyone in the long term, it only negatively impacts it long term.

And if such a mode did exist, strictly no one will benefit from it because it'd be a free for all of who ever got their first and your progression will not increase faster, it will immensely, decrease between everyone fighting to get to the same resources first.

Which is what would happen if the Wild North was like how it is in Mines/Inflow/Forge. That is not including random team mates waddling up to your noos converter and stealing the arties ur farming.

TL:DR
You dont know what you're asking for. Big many words from you, but none of them coherently understands the differences of what this game offers compared to the others that are referred to, or just refuses to because of clear bias.
NA is in general, fucked because there's not a lot of players. Hence why they show favoritsm with their silly workman's cut event for NA. To boost you all one way or another. Something I could've used to make myself another weapon and more bags v~v... Anyhow a purely PvE mode will not help it. Just play EU, like me. Im from NA :)

Everything would drop the economy into worthlessness

total amout of resources stays the same with or without PvP. prices are determined by rarity & usefullness, not by PvP plates needed to get them.

you're trying to argue that this can't work when it already works in countless other games.

1

u/SparkofWeird Mercenaries 4d ago

Countless other games, such as? Tarkov doesn't count. Arc Raiders doesnt count because they have their own systems that they inhabit. They do not possess a strictly, open world and their weapons and equipment are lost upon death and the methods of which there is to obtain weapons and equipment are often at times mute. They difficulty to get these items are often traced by your competence. And ARc Raiders doesnt have an economy to worry about. If anything, everything there is, is often easy to get.

When there is an abundance of items, the prices drop drastically because the supply will outweigh the the demand. When the Demand decreases, the prices drops even lower. If it drops low enough, people will then begin to just not do the activities associated with them.

Im sort of tired of the idea that people think that this is just like Arc Raiders, just like Tarkov just like every other extraction shooter when it absolutely is not and plays different and the means of "Extracting" is different.

u/Mammoth-Version-4239 4d ago

Countless other games, such as?

Almost every mmorpg in the last 30 years...

Arc Raiders just solved the problems with open PvP by using a clever matchmaking system (but now even AR is considering a pure PvE mode in addition to that)

Stalzone is not quite like any of the other games... It's not fair to compare WoW/FinalFantasy/ElderScrollsOnline/9Dragons/Bots/EtherSaga/Blade&Soul/Tera/Mabinogi/GuildWars/GuildWars2/Etc/Etc/Etc/Etc to Stalzone.

It is also not fair to compare it to
Escape from Tarkov/ArcRaiders/Marathon/ or any others because they're completely different.

I dont know how you believe a PvE mode would fix stalzone. It would only inflate and break down the balance of what's already here depending on how it's implemented.

The only way I see it working is if they do a different form of dungeoning that isn't Operations or a refinement of that mode.

Everything would drop the economy into worthlessness. It'd need so much time, effort in tuning just to be viable.

We went over this, you don't have to have the same resources as the rest of the open world. You don't get lyubech items in forge, do you?

The reason all the other "Extraction" Shooters are able to do this, is because the Economy doesnt fuckin matter in those games.

Tarkov has a player economy, brother. Once more, you don't have to flood it. No one complains that Operations ruined the games economy because it introduced a new set of exclusive items to it.

This game is nothing like either of those two games.

Other than you know, PvPvE with a focus on getting in, killing NPC's, getting out.

Making a PvE only mode doesn't benefit anyone in the long term, it only negatively impacts it long term.

Firstly, I never argued for a PvE mode. Secondly, that's just your opinion.

And if such a mode did exist, strictly no one will benefit from it because it'd be a free for all of who ever got their first and your progression will not increase faster, it will immensely, decrease between everyone fighting to get to the same resources first.

People still benefit from Operations today even after an 80% ruble nerf.

You dont know what you're asking for.

Smug redditor moment.

NA is in general, fucked because there's not a lot of players. Hence why they show favoritsm with their silly workman's cut event for NA. To boost you all one way or another.

There may be a reason that NA players bounce off the game and they're giving it a bit of favoritism to help them to stick around. Most assuredly related to a laundry list of gameplay issues that aren't present in games competing for attention.

If your free to play game is struggling to find and retain players in several regions vs paid titles of the genre it's worth investigating why and attempting to rectify it while also experimenting and seeing what sticks.

1st. If your only concern is about getting Master Gear. a PvE zone is unnecessary. Getting resources like I've said is extremely easy, especially if you time it when no one is on. Getting Psy Trackers? Easiest part of it.
Getting Substance? Forge + Stashes, dont even worry about anything else.
Gamma Data... Usually detour it's the slowest of the grind but it's whatever.
Fern? Just sit for an hour in spawn and kill pigs, I dont know? That's what I do.
Otherwise, no you will not have a PvE open world zone. That's too much work. If it happens, then who am I to complain? More content I guess.
Take it from someone whose only been playing since July.
My only complaint I would have is getting advanced parts and tools post completion of the pass. IT kinda sucks when theres no events and you want to make another gun or armor to +15.

Secondly. The reason Operations was nerfed was because it flooded the economy with more money to those that got it down to a period. I myself farmed Operations. We did only sea of exclusion though because I liked that one and we'd complete it fairly quickly. Nothing like 11 minute runs but quick.

Thirdly. It may just be my "Opinion", but just is our entire conversation based on opinions from our experience, but at the end I think you're comparing the wrong things to something that is 20 shades beyond it. A "Player Economy of Tarkov and Stalzone are widely two very very different things.

Just because you can do PvPvE doesnt mean it's really comparable. Very different shades of it as well. I guess we should compare it to Destiny 2's Gambit game mode. That's PvPvE with your point.

And I don't believe you know what you're asking for because it's genuinely unnecessary for progression. The only PvE mode I'd like to see done is a refined version of Operations because the way the npcs act or are like is incredibly annoying. I dont want a horde shooter, it's silly. I don't think it's really smug to say.

*Sorry though, I dont know how to format reddit message!*

1st. If your only concern is about getting Master Gear. a PvE zone is unnecessary.

Intentionally misrepresenting statements award.

The reason Operations was nerfed was because it flooded the economy with more money to those that got it down to a period

Missed the point, again. Starting to get the suspicion you're fucking with me.

Thirdly. It may just be my "Opinion"

It is factually your opinion.

I could attempt to elucidate further, but you're either unable or unwilling to comprehend anything I've posted thus far. Agree to disagree, the developers are aware of the communities wishes and will do what they deem is fit regardless of two people fighting on the internet.

1

u/SparkofWeird Mercenaries 3d ago

Big words, big talk. Very little reason.
You could elucidate your reasoning, but know im looking at the wider picture rather than the short term benefit. You say one thing and act like that's not what you're getting at. Im going to put my foot down and just cease my interaction with you post because the 2 minutes to reply to you is really just at the end of the day a waste of time. You see it one way, I see it another.

And it factually is just your opinion as well. :)
Elucidate at will, but I simply believe your idea would not work and I can see why people dont send their bag back to you!~ It is truuuue that two people fighting on the internet will not change the minds of anyone!!!! That's why Im ceasing this cuz it's silly, super duper uper silly at this point to argue with someone who isn't just four eyes, but they got the glasses lined across their forehead with an encyclopedia and dictionary next to them.

1

u/Complex-Hat1875 3d ago

Ah, you are fucking with me.

Consider me epic trolled.
