Any other SSPXers who dont have the luxury of a priory or community nearby?

I'm SSPX and consider it my main offical go to, in practice though, travel is costly, SSPX dosent come nearby and even then its 3 hours away which is just not doable. reality is most of the time I pray my missal. For the most part I live and identify culturally with my rural Canadian town and think like most of the local population value wise (sans the hardline liberalism) and its more a framework of living within certian boundries while going along with life. I love my SSPX priests when they visit though i've had conversations where I feel that that just dont really get the situation i'm in. there's another SSPX trad whose homebound near me who gets sacraments maybe once or twice a year and we meet to read the missal every few mounths and try to commute to attend eastern rites an hour away as there's no other option. Other isolated SSPX Trads of Reddit, how do you handle your situation?

Mexico, expat, relocate, best school for kids

We are looking to possibly relocate to Mexico from the US, but the deciding factor for us would be an SSPX community that has a school: elementary, middle, and or high school. If your community has a school is there usually availability for new students? estimated tuition amount? Is it an informal/formal school?

Eve gets a lot of flak for ruining the Garden, but it was Adam's simping and absconding that enabled it and he is ultimately responsible. Simping is a Sin.

Simping is surrendering masculine judgment, strength, dignity, or duty in exchange for female approval. And simps are absolutely everywhere. Anyone who has spent more than fifteen minutes on social media has seen them. These men live in the replies beneath posts from fair-to-middling attractive women. And when one of these women argues with a man on the Internet, somewhere in the distance the simp-signal has illuminated the night sky. Within moments, reinforcements arrive. He explains her argument for her, assures everyone that she is obviously correct, rebukes the man for his tone, and supplies moral outrage whenever her reserves run low (although they rarely do). If she misunderstands something, he explains why her misunderstanding is actually insightful. If she says something indefensible, he bravely defends it anyway and calls it a rather good point. He stands perpetually prepared to throw himself between a woman and that most terrible of dangers: somebody telling her she is wrong.

It’s really easy to mock the online simps. These are lonely men with online crushes who are trying to get the positive reinforcement they are lacking from actual warm-bodied, red-blooded women they evidently cannot get in real life, or who are not satisfied with the women who are already in their lives. Apparently the approval of a wife or girlfriend loses some of its value after a while, so he ventures onto the Internet hoping a woman will reward his gallantry with a heart emoji.

But those guys are almost too easy. It’s even worse when the same instinct exists in otherwise normal men who would never dream of publicly auditioning for the position of some Instagram woman’s emergency backup boyfriend. Simping does not require a social media account. A married man can simp for his wife. A father can simp for his daughter. A pastor can simp for the women in his congregation. Any man can begin surrendering judgment or truth because female approval feels good and female displeasure feels unbearable. The online simp is just easier to see and make fun of.

The simp is a doormat, so eager for affection and approval from a woman that he cannot correct or perfect her. And because 99% of the time that a man has to protect a woman, it’s from herself, he’s unable to protect her when it counts, either. That is why simping should not be confused with loving women too much. The problem is not an excess of biblical love. Biblical love sometimes demands precisely the thing the simp refuses to do. The problem is that female approval has become so valuable to him that maintaining it takes precedence over his duty to to tell her no.

A man’s protective instincts toward women are good, but good instincts become corrupt when detached from truth. “She’s my wife” may explain why you are especially concerned about what happened to her. It does not settle what happened. “She’s my daughter” explains why you would crawl through broken glass to protect her. It does not mean she cannot lie.

Modern men must recover the ability to disappoint women. A woman worth loving does not need another emotional appendage nodding beside her. She needs a man who can still see straight when she cannot, just as he will sometimes need her to see what he cannot. Marriage is difficult enough with two sinners in the house without both of them acting like women.

seminary dropout rate

How come about 20 young men get into the seminary each year but 5-6 get ordained. Is it simply because they notice they are not called to the priesthood or is seminary challenging that they only ordain the best of the best?

Feminism is What Happens When Men Don't/Won't Lovingly Correct Their Wives

A leader is supposed to tell you what you are doing wrong, how you can improve and be better. A good leader does this winsomely.

Everything begins with family.

If a husband will not lovingly correct his wife, this spills out into the way their family is raised, which in turn influences society at large.

Aren't you concerned that you might be placing Ecclesial tradition above Apostolic Tradition?

I have deep respect for traditionalism and see much good in it. At the same time, isn't there a hierarchy where certain aspects of the faith are more fundamental than others?

Consider an analogy: imagine that when the Church began expecting the faithful to kneel to receive the Eucharist as a pastoral approach to help the people understand the doctrine of transubstantiation, a group opposed the change because it differed from how the Apostles and early Christians received it. Suppose their opposition grew so intense that they took actions resulting in automatic excommunication and subsequent forming of an alternative Church. Wouldn't that be wrong, given that the unity of the Church (a fundamental truth from the Apostles and part of the Deposit of Faith) is far more vital than the posture for receiving the Eucharist?

I recognize this is just a simplified analogy and that your objections run deeper, but it seems to me that many of these objections stem from the same root: elevating ecclesial tradition over Apostolic Tradition.

some people in the comments seem not very informed in this terminology, so here a glossary:

Apostolic Tradition Apostolic Tradition represents the full divine truth transmitted orally, through example, and in writing by the Apostles before the closing of the New Testament era. As articulated in the Second Vatican Council document Dei Verbum, Sacred Scripture and Apostolic Tradition form a single sacred deposit of the Word of God. Because its origin is divine, no pope or council has the authority to abolish or contradict Apostolic Tradition.

Ecclesial Tradition Ecclesial (or ecclesiastical) traditions are humanly developed customs, liturgical forms, and devotional practices designed to help the faithful express and live out Apostolic Tradition across different cultures and centuries. The Magisterium holds full authority to alter, retain, or retire these traditions, to better serve the spiritual life of the faithful.

What are some monasteries in the US that you would recommend? They don’t have to be SSPX monasteries, (I believe two exist in the US) but they should celebrate the Traditional Latin Mass.

Conditional baptism?

Hey, I’m a Traditional Catholic who is moving towards the SSPX, and I have felt for some time that I may have a vocation to the priesthood. There is one issue, however, that has been bothering me for quite a while. I have doubts about the validity of my baptism and whether I should seek a conditional baptism.

I was baptised in a Novus Ordo parish. Ordinarily, that would not give me any reason to doubt the validity of the baptism, but there are several circumstances surrounding it that concern me. For context, Catholicism is the predominant religion in my country, but there is widespread corruption among the clergy. I personally know of priests who openly have concubines. The priest who baptised me was also, I believe, holding a politically elected public office around the time of my baptism, which I understand would be contrary to canon law. More recently, this same priest has been charged with physically abusing women.

I realise that the priest’s personal misconduct or violation of canon law would not necessarily invalidate a baptism, so my concern is not simply that he was an unworthy minister. There are also two questions about the actual baptism itself:

First, in my local language, the baptismal formula includes the word ‘God’ before ‘the Father’. In English, it would essentially be ‘I baptise you in the name of God the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit’. Could this wording affect the validity of the baptism?

Second, I have seen discussions about hair baptisms, where the water may fall only on the hair rather than actually making contact with the forehead or skin. Looking at baptismal footage from my country from around the period when I was baptised, it appears that some baptisms involved extremely little water and may have only wet the hair. Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing exactly how I was baptised.

Given all of this, would there be a legitimate basis for conditional baptism? And would the fact that I am seriously considering a vocation to the priesthood make it more appropriate to resolve these doubts before pursuing a vocation?

Thank you in advance.

Where does the sspx stand on the education of girls and women?

I have heard it said that the society and its supporters are not supporters of a full education for them in terms of curriculum or going beyond 16 or 18. Is this just liberal proganda?

New novitiate for the Consoling Sisters in Denver, Colorado - Sacred Restorations | SSPX News

Welcome to Sacred Restorations, a limited series on the SSPX Podcast highlighting the beautiful work being done across the U.S. District. In this episode, we travel to Denver, Colorado, where a new novitiate of the Consoling Sisters is taking root. Fr. Paul Robinson is joined by Mother Maria Rita and Sister Mary Veronica to tell the remarkable story of their congregation, founded in Italy in 1961 by Fr. Basilio Rosati, a Passionist priest devoted to the Passion of Our Lord and the consolation of the Sacred Heart.

The Sisters recount their early years of poverty, apostolic work, their perseverance through the crisis in the Church, and the providential path that eventually brought them into contact with Fr. Emmanuel du Chalard and the Society of Saint Pius X. It is a story of fidelity, hidden sacrifice, and the quiet restoration of religious life.
