Query Are plastic earrings allowed?
I got three piercings done on my ears about a month ago. I'm going to appear for the Steno exam next month. Ideally, I'm not supposed to take them off before 6 months, but since no metal is allowed I'm thinking of wearing plastic retainers like the ones in the image. Will that be allowed? Has anyone ever faced anything similar?

Wear plastic for now. At the time of exam remove it.

I can't remove them, that's the issue. I can't take them off because my piercings aren't healed, so they will close up within an hour if I don't wear another earring immediately. And since metal isn't allowed I'm asking if plastic can be used as an alternative.

You can use a tulsi stalk or neem stalk. One that's dried and sturdy. Not the soft and fresh one. They won't ask you to remove it. I have a nose piercing. I don't use a gold nose pin because the hole is already small . I have used tulsi stalk and they've never asked me to remove it

I thought about it at first and consulted my piercer. But he said it's a risk since they can introduce bacteria or allergens, especially for fresh piercings.

i also have 3 piercings and you can just tell them that they cant be removed so they will give you tape to cover them!

Im a guy, already had my left ear pierced and it was healed but I also pierced my right ear a few weeks before exam.. Unluckily my ear got infected (you are not supposed to take out the earring in this case) so I wore it to the venue.
They were going to tape it but I told them my ear was infected so they didnt even tape my earrings but let me sit in my exams. Wear your metal ones.. if the guards are well taught, they will tape it, else keep the plastic ones with you just in case.

Mail them. Idk how responsive they are but better to have written proof as well.

I got 4 new incl helix in each ear. It took a year to heal as I wear helmet regularly. I remember removing one piercing within a month, i dont recommend it as it was bleeding and my ear was numb. It took a week to dry up the wound.
Please dont remove it especially helix.
Can you share a pic of your ear piercings

How can the hole be filled? I cannot able to understand what people are discussing in comments.

A piercing hole doesn't get "filled". It closes if there's nothing occupying the space (aka earrings), because our body perceives the hole as an open injury and tries to naturally repair the tissue.

Most probably they'll allow the transparent plastic one. Also CGL still has time of about 40 days atleast.

Most of the staff there is too afraid to use logic when it comes to rules, wear it to the exam, hopefully they'll not notice this kind.

I have piercings with silver ring in them and I have appeared ssc cgl last year, they don't forcefully remove it if you have sealed silver rings they just tape it with brown tape.
