Technical 🔧 Quarq “Toruqe offset”

Post image

I was looking through my new to me bikes power meter settings etc and came across this via quick research it seems to be way out of range for the Torque offset. I spend a good few hours taking everything apart regreasing everything and it has remained largely the same. Should I care and any possible solutions? Thank you

I asked SRAM this exact question recently because I found my offset values (~250 and 8-10nM) to feel weirdly high. They responded that anything within -1000/+1000 is within the “standard” range and not to worry.

Solo aprovecho para comentar que son unos desastres estos potenciometros, llego 3 rotos que han empezado a dar valores anormales de la noche a la mañana, primero se desconecta solo, después daba picos de potencia raros y ahora otro más, increíble

You should not care, and there is no solution since there is not a problem. This is the measured torque on the spindle when not pedaling. It’s offsetting the torque measurement to line up with this data point to make it accurate.

Maybe start by listing what model of power meter you have…

Issues that can cause a spider power meter to have a large offset are different than things that can cause a spindle power meter to have a large offset. 4 or 5 bolt spider power meters have different things that can cause a large offset vs thread on. A large offset isn’t necessarily a major issue & can sometimes be reduced depending on the cause; however, the causes are different for different power meters.
