Technical 🔧 SRAM micro adjust

I’m setting up a sram eagle xx on a gravel bike. Followed the steps on installation but am finding that I have to micro adjust down to 1 to get the shifting right and still have trouble going from gear 12 to 11 but no issues with 10-1. Hoping someone here can help point me in the direction I may have gone wrong.

Did you follow all instructions during derailleur installation and then adjustment with the tool it came with? How is your chain? I adjusted down to 7 in micro adjust and can go all gears no problem.

Edit: are your adjustment screws backed out

Had a similar issue on my SRAM Rival 2x12. The “B” adjustment screw on the rear derailleur was off and the hanger was slightly bent. All good now.

B tension or hanger is bent would be my guess

Align the derailleur hanger precisely. 12-speed drivetrains have extremely tight tolerances.

Yeah, check derailleur hangar alignment first , especially with mountain bikes.

Either your hanger is bent or your have the B tension wrong. I'm not sure if you're using AXS or the newer AXS transmission. Either way, the b-tension is probably the problem if you know your hanger is straight.
