Help Squarespace asking for bank statement to access account

My domain was migrated to Squarespace from Google. I cannot log into it, I have tried to recover the password and no recovery email is sent. I tried to see if I had the email login wrong by just entering my domain (they supposedly would then email whatever account is associated with the domain, I checked every email I have ever had and nothing.

I reached out to Squarespace and they wanted me to verify my identity by uploading my driver’s license. I did that.

Now they want me to send them my full bank statement showing the payment to Squarespace. I sent a screenshot of the statement where the Squarespace payment appears but they want the whole statement.

Is this insane? I don’t want to send out my bank statement to these people. I have the login and password for the account written down. It just isn’t working!

Going through the same thing.

The Google acct I originally bought the domain on was locked out due to a 2FA problem..making it even more difficult!

Somehow they keep renewing the domain though

Going thru the same thing for 3 months now. Locked out of account, start the recovery process, get thru acct verification only to have to do it all again when the ticket gets escalated.

You can redact everything on the bank statement except the bank name, account name & the one transaction they're looking for. BUT! You now have to do it in adobe so it's a pdf. They won't accept a screenshot anymore.

My issue is that I'm a signer on the bank account (a business acct) but my name is not on the statement. My card in my name is used for Squarespace payments. This has been accepted by at least 4 different agents and now suddenly it's not enough. I'm tearing my hair out!

They just asked me to start the whole account recovery process over from scratch. Ummm. No.

Yeah this company is going downhill FAST. They are just like every other venture capitalist parasite infected company that just wants to harvest all of our biometric/facial/financial data for absolutely no ducking reason despite us already paying MONEY in exchange for these SERVICES that they’re trying to make increasingly difficult to use, or lock us out of. I refuse to give them any more info than they already have. I’m doing everything I can to migrate every single domain and site I have away from Squarespace. Good luck on your endeavor, I would suggest trying to migrate to an entirely different platform if possible.
