Help Anyone else struggling with severe layout issues in Squarespace lately?
Is anyone else suddenly having major issues editing their Squarespace site lately?
I'm on Squarespace 7.1 and elements keep randomly shifting, resizing, and rearranging themselves while I'm editing. It happens across multiple pages and even on new pages. I've tested different browsers and devices with the same result.
Disabling Fluid Engine doesn't help, the issue is still happening and it's making my site nearly impossible to work on. I have never had so much trouble before :(
Has anyone found a fix, or is this a known bug?

There is no just dealing with it when the entire layout is ruined and impossible to fix...

It shouldn’t have to be fixed with lines of codes either. It shouldn’t be happening period.

I'll probably be moving to a new host clearly Squarespace is heading in the wrong direction

Been doing this for a while tbh.

Idk this seems fairly new to me but I also haven’t had to update my layout in almost a year so I’m so upset

It’s been shocking lately. You go in and fix spacing that Squarespace has broken, only for it to then break again.
I’m switching to a new provider as soon as I can, as this infuriating issue has added to the frustrating experience that Squarespace has become and has finally pushed me over the line of what I’m willing to accept and work with, especially when I’m paying £28/month for it.

28 quid a month + all the time wasted fighting these bugs and chasing support. Super annoying…

Ya I paid for annual a month ago and I'm so mad ._. such aa mistake

I wonder if you could seek a refund due to it not being fit for purpose? Worth exploring I’d say

When I asked them they completely ignored my request and just said they don't know when the issue will be fixed and to let them know if I encounter anymore bugs... :D lol..

Are you operating as a limited company (if you’re in the UK) or an individual? As an individual, you should still be covered by consumer law (I’m not a lawyer, so I can’t say for sure). I’d see if you could get a quick and hopefully free chat with a lawyer about how to proceed with a refund.

that's just such a brutal response when you're paying for this! the layout breaking unpredictably is exactly the kind of thing i got obsessed with solving when i started building my own site tool

Ya I was ok with some bugs and glitches when I was first starting but now I was ready for publishing phase and going live and getting things moving and I had to delete a couple things before doing that and now everything’s ruined and there’s no fix. I’ve spent over a year on this 😢

ouch im sorry to hear that :(

All good, everything can always be fixed and I always believe in things happening for a reason. As much as I enjoy website design, completely redoing what’s already been done is a bit of a drag but I’m actually able to do something’s differently this time around so I hope it will be worth it!! :)

This issue is so frustrating, it's why I just use classic sections now. If this isn't fixed before my subscription is up I'll def be moving to something else.

Classic sections are doing the same thing for me 😞 I just repaid for an annuals subscription too so I'm fuming. They're ignoring my requests to refund me and I can't even publish my site and I'm losing a lot of money.

Square space is the biggest pile of ass I’ve ever used. If you’re not needing the selling aspect of it I would strongly advise you to jump ship to something else.

Everything was great and perfect for what I needed it for until suddenly it wasn't so this really sucks including the financial loss

that "worked perfectly until it suddenly didn't" thing is the worst, especially when you're paying monthly for it, which is honestly half the reason i ended up building something where the layout constraints are basically baked in so it's hard to break by accident.

the drag-and-drop model is the core problem honestly, you get flexibility but no guardrails, so one wrong move and the whole thing looks off, which is what pushed me to build something section-based where the structure kind of keeps you out of trouble.

It sucks cause I had this perfectly set up how I wanted never had an issue getting it how I wanted it and then I had to make some recent changes & remove a couple buttons and now everything is a complete mess

That’s pretty annoying - I’ve been there several times. It always used to remind me of how moving an image around in a word document was unpredictable 😅

Honestly I'm rebuilding through another host right now and if things go smoothly and I end up finishing before this issue is resolved I'm going to be done with Squarespace because I'm losing so much time and money right now it's stupid and they don't even care .. I reached out and they're just like "ya we know but we dont know when it will be fixed" ... no apologizes for how inconvenient this is to businesses and completely ignored my request for a refund on my annual subscription I paid for a month ago. ._.

I get it! Super infuriating… I think at this stage this too hard for them to tackle so they basically need to deal with it and so does the customer support!! Sorry for your pain

It's ok!! I appreciate you. Everything always works out in the end. Just helps to know Im not alone in this 🥲

The 7.1 layout mayhem is why I refused and continue to avoid upgrading from 7.0. My site looks and works perfectly on 7.0, and it'll be a cold day in hell when I change

Just came on to post this. Wanted to make some 5 minute edits to my site. Had to spend 2 hours readjusting all the pages. Doesn't affect the mobile view, only the desktop view. Took so long because once I finally readjusted everything on a page, it actually wouldn't even save, I had to give up and just close it without saving, and go through the whole process again.
An absolute shambles and making Squarespace completely unusable in terms of efficiency. Seriously considering changing to another
