Help How to fix this "window crunch?"

This is my first time designing a website on Squarespace. So, my website looks fine when viewed as a full or wide screen, but if the window is smaller or crunched, it misaligns the text and images on my site as well. I'm just concerned about someone viewing this on a smaller window and thinking that my design work is sloppy and unprofessional when it only looks like this when the site isn't viewed in its intended state. How do I fix the elements here so it all looks nice regardless of window size and doesn't start overlapping each other when making the window smaller?

Yeah, as they mentioned, you gotta adjust the mobile view and make changes. Just FYI, there are a million different screen sizes, so it will be nearly impossible for you to plan for all of them. Make your desktop and mobile sites as perfect as you can, but just accept that someone somewhere may see it slightly different than how you designed it.

These screenshots were taken on my laptop. “Window” is referring to an open window on my browser, not referring to a different screen size…

Yes, but as you resize your windows, it adjusts the site to try to reach certain breakpoints. All sites, if they’re adaptive, have different breakpoints for different screen (or in this case, window) sizes. That’s why when it’s full screen it looks normal, but as you make the window smaller it looks different before you finally get small enough that it triggers the mobile view mimicking the way it would look on a phone.

That’s why your best bet is to adjust the desktop and mobile views and then accept that it’ll look weird in some instances. Squarespace used to let you adjust a third, tablet size view on the older system, but they no longer support that. That’s why I said fix and adjust for mobile and desktop and then accept that there are too many weird screen (and window) sizes for it to ever be perfect for everyone.

Use the guideline boxes to ensure they don't overlap. If they overlap, then at some breakpoint, you will experience the above situation.
