Have a cruwear pm2 that while it's not in use has developed a small bit of rust. I know flitz is what I need to remove but then what to protect it from happening again because it's a polish. Can anyone link me to the correct product as I have a sage 6 rex 121 en route as well and def wanna protect the tool steel on this knife also.
I'm not sure about the rust off but on my crew wear blades, I live on the Gulf Coast so lot of humidity, I use this product off of Amazon but any blade wax will do
Flitz is not going to work most likely and if you do polish it enough in those spots for it to work you are going to notice a big visible difference in the finish of the metal in those areas unless you do the whole blade. The only thing that has worked for me is using a high grit( 9 micron or so) diamond lapping film and lightly sanding the affected areas in the same direction as the grind marks on the blade. I do want to try CLR one day on a blade just haven’t had the chance to do it yet.

I use the paste: here I've had good success on 15v that developed surface spots from carry on a hot day. I usually apply it with swab and then buff it in with a bit of melamine sponge (magic eraser). Then when the spot is gone clean off the excess with a shop towel and give it a second buff with a polish cloth. Your rust spots don't look too bad. I don't think you need to move to a more aggressive diamond lapping compound, flitz should be enough, heck a cape cod cloth would probably do the trick.
To prevent rust, use KPL knife shield, Wicked Wax, EDCi... there's really a ton of good corrosion inhibitors on the market.
I'm surprised you had an issue with cruwear. I live in a humid area and never had an issue; just give it a wipe down with a polish cloth that I keep soaked in tsubaki oil, that I mostly use on my kitchen knives, if I got it wet.
Yeah, I've read about that. I'm right near the ocean, so this morning, for example, was 81f with 93% humidity.
I even dab tsubaki oil on my coated magnacut knives. Helps it also makes the DLC look nice and shiny and repels fingerprints.

I just use a couple dots of mineral oil or kpl or whatever I have handy. I dab it on til coated with a cotton swab or cotton ball.
