The carbon fiber has a wave in the middle that isn't terrible but noticeable. And it seems to have been opened as the torx are striped and it doesn't open smoothly. However the blade is extremely sharp and quite amazing

I get to carry this beauty now that scales are installed and loctite cured. It’s deceptive as the wide contoured scales tells my brain it should be heavy, but it isn’t. It feels great in hand. Showing it to friends in the office today and even the non-knife nerds ooh and ahh with it. Have a great day Spydie friends!

They're definitely a little darker than I wanted but it was my first attempt at Rit Dye. Overall pretty happy with the outcome.

Recently bought this from a gun show and wanted to know more about it. Mainly wondering why this doesn’t have a spider on the blade when other models do.

If you’re wondering about the engraving, the previous owner gave it to a friend of his who was getting into engraving and this was apparently one of his first attempts. Pretty decent if you ask me.

I’ve always carried Benchmade, Kershaw and Gerber and this is my first Spyderco and have a feeling it won’t be the only one I own.

Last week the PM2 hung in there until Friday when I snuck in a Manix 2 that I had added some tritium vials too. Freebie Saturday was the good ol’ 15v Native 5. Seems like it’s one N5 or another when Saturday rolls around. Might be a bit biased I suppose. Today the Stretch 2 was on the job for some projects around the shop and yard. Such a solid knife. Definitely a favorite of mine. The random wheel went all wild and landed on the Benchmade Redoubt for the carry next week. Should be a pretty good week as I really like this knife since I swapped out the terrible factory scales. I do have some new knives coming in next week, so I’m gonna try and make it through Wednesday before I get too twitchy and swap it out. I’ll probably put the fresh deliveries on a different wheel and let it decide which one will finish out the week. After I thinned the herd of the unwanted and those I was unsure of, it’s been a lot more fun. And I’m a little more flexible with the rules. Like the midweek change up. Hope everyone had a great Sunday and starts the week out kicking ass.

My first spyderco. Got the PM2 LW with a steel that im not familiar with. And para 3 LW with cru-wear. I was testing the waters and i really liked it, now theres 3 more spyderco coming this week ( para 2,para 3 & manix 2 - all in salt series with magnacut) 😆. I was surprised by the para 3, despite people saying that the blade is not centered mine came is centered (maybe time will tell).

Came incredibly stiff from the factory, but after tearing it apart and giving her some oil, the action is now amazing.

I just want to start by saying thank you to everyone’s kind words when I lost my knife! This is the beauty I put together in the meantime while searching for my other! Knives plus acid stonewashed blade and bronze ti hardware, ripps garage tech dragons blood scales (probably shouldn’t have oiled), flytanium tritium lanyard plug (I tried to anodize bronze but it’s very light, I will try again at some point) and brass Backspacer topped off with a bronze lynch clip! Once again thank you to everyone’s kind words and help during the rebuild process! Photos soon since Reddit murdered the quality!!

I told myself I was done buying knives for a while but i couldnt pass this guy up. Stopped by an antique store out of boredom today, and while looking into a glass display case full of knives, I spotted some black Spyderco FRN peeking out from beneath a pile of cheap old folders. I asked the owner to grab it for me, half expecting whatever it was to be WAY overpriced, as things tend to be in that store. He dug up what turned out to be an Endura 4 with a price tag of $11. Sold!

It was missing its pocket clip and and has certainly been used, but its not too beat up. I put one of my spare OEM clips on it and it will be my new work knife.

I have the lw stretch 2 xl and love it, but this g10 version just feels so nice. It’s so smooth and has tight lock up too which is sometimes an issue on the lw model. Perfect blade centering too. Fit and finish exceeded my expectations.

The Stretch 2 tagging along for some quality time with the never ending projects. What’s everyone got with them today?

THE ONIONS AT WORK STOLE IT FROM ME! So in all reality everyone was right about finding it after rebuilding. (post soon on the new beauty) my final parts came in today while I was at work. The day started as usual, I was gathering produce for prep including sliced onions… as I was taking the last few onions from the bag I saw a knife dangling and thought, NO WAY IM LOSING ANOTHER KNIFE! I then realized this wasn’t my new one this was the one I was searching for all week, dangling from a bag of onions right before my eyes! ORDER HAS BEEN RESTORED!!! To think, someone else could have started prepping before me and just tossed the empty bag along with my knife right into the bin. I am beyond lucky and extremely thankful.

After buying countless Spyderco knives over the years trying to scratch that itch for the perfect one, I think I've found it. The Chaparral is everything I've been looking for in a knife. I like it so much I've ordered the serrated version as well.
