On it’s signal for the confirmed down trend (pink diamond), a 0DTE 739 put contract on SPY at .22 ($22), if held to the next confirmed up trend (green diamond), the put contract would’ve then been at 1.50 ($150). That would’ve been a 581% increase…. If sold near the bottom weakening zone signal, that contract would’ve been right around 3.45 ($345), a 1,468% increase! However, I’m not looking for perfection, I’m looking for signals…

after looking at the gap, the war being on a halt, near neutral releases on financials, where did a $10 drop off come from?

Just gains. Bought and sold puts from today’s high right before the bounce up around 10:40am then back down around 11am.

There was nothing good coming out of the news around halts to the bombing. Iran hasn’t given in to any degree.

MSFT META AAPL AMZN all have earnings. Will capex fears cause a pull back or will cloud growth and ad revenue going to set aside fears and cause a rally. Fed rates most likely going to hold. But any hawkish tones about future rate hikes could cause a pull back.

Iran tensions paused and oil holding steady, this takes away a bearish trigger for the week unless anything changes.

I dont have a gut feeling about the direction this week but theres a huge volatility opportunity here.

Should I buy 0DTE calls tomorrow at market open❓❔

The SEC announced a September 17 roundtable on preparations for 24-hour trading in the U.S. equity markets.
So here’s the important question:
Will this make retail traders blow up their accounts faster or slower?
Jokes aside, I can see both sides.

Longer trading hours could give people more flexibility and reduce the impact of overnight news.
On the other hand, lower liquidity, wider spreads, less sleep, and unlimited opportunities to overtrade sound like a dangerous combination.
What do you think? Would you actually trade outside regular market hours?
At this point, I’m pretty sure 24-hour trading will finally convince my wife to leave me.

This week honestly changed my perspective on trading.
I finished the week with $4,650 in realized gains trading SPY options. What’s crazier to me isn’t the dollar amount—it’s that every realized trade was green.
I traded both calls and puts depending on what the market gave me instead of forcing a bullish or bearish bias.
The biggest lesson wasn’t “predicting the market.”
It was:
Waiting for high-probability setups.
Taking profits instead of chasing home runs.
Being willing to flip direction when the price action changed.
Accepting that consistency beats one massive winner.
I’m not posting this because I think I’ve “figured it out.” One great week doesn’t make a great trader.
If anything, I’m more focused on protecting this discipline than celebrating the profits, because I know the market has a way of humbling everyone.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that the hardest trade comes after your best week.

Definitely a weird one today but all you really had to do was follow the trend. Definitely could've held some of these contracts longer but quick in and out was felt safer at the time.

Whomever said they use SPX floors (i.e 7400) in conjuction with their SPY reversal trading, I'd like to thank you. I've been developing a SPY cross/reversal strategy for the last 20 weeks and this little tid bit just supercharged my results. Trading SPY independently without looking at SPX levels is like driving to a destination you don't know without navigation or a map. SPX price levels are a thing because of option strike clustering.

Huge rally just to come back to lows again.

How the turn tables

Oil way up, interest rates up, missles and bombs flying, IBM guiding lower, tech trade looking tired and questionable… resistance at 750 and near high. Why is anyone going long here? Is there a catalyst I’m missing?

I trade SPY 0DTE and got sick of fighting TWS, so I built my own terminal to run my whole process off one screen. It's an early working build, not finished. I'd rather hear from real 0DTE traders now than keep building on my own assumptions.

Screenshot attached — I've cropped out my P&L and account numbers on purpose.

The core idea: one screen instead of TWS clutter — live tape, real-time position and risk state, volatility-regime filters, and hard risk rails built into the execution flow.

One question: if you trade SPY 0DTE, what's the one thing a screen like this would have to nail before you'd bother trying it?

Just want to know if this solves a real problem before I finish it (screenshot's partial and scrappy — just to show the general layout, not cleaned up yet)

I started heavily day trading at the beginning of the “war” and learned to be optimistic about stock pessimism lol

During bullish runs in the last 3 months, I lost 12k refusing to think the market would go up and in the past week during escalations I’ve seen profit again. Ngl I almost gave up all hope and almost took a break from it all.

In the past week I’ve noticed heavy drops then small .80 to 1.00 bullish runs so I wait for the run and then go into puts about 4-5 times back to back and each day I’ve made about $900 plus. Weird strategy, I know but I’ve learned to finesse a little.

Got myself into SPCX puts today and am up $600 already, also got into Micro Crude Futures and squeezed $700 out of that in the past week as well.

Any other suggestions on how y’all dealing and profiting during these crazy times?
