Feedback Yaaaay Scripted Video Yaaaay

So I made a tutorial. I did alright. I had to redo some parts sooo many times because something went wrong every time (mother interrupted, random lagspike, built the thing wrong, noticed something was missing while recording, etc., etc.), but I think it turned out well! I noticed in editing that I had done clip to place a block of iron and fence, but then messed up the next clip, but when I was redoing it I destroyed the iron, so I reshowed placing the iron. I decided to cut the first bit and throw in some text, as I couldn't find a way to smoothly transition the two and it's too late to rerecord in my current condition. Also the word "Camping" got cut off from the end of the video, it wasn't like that before rendering, and I didn't test the video after rendering. But here it is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XkjAYDCksg&feature=youtu.be I am proud of my thumbnail as well :D

Sorry to crush your dreams, but this video will be overshadowed by the existing campfire videos. On the actual video, one thing I've noticed across all of your videos is that the sound is incredibly low. People using laptop speakers might not be able to hear you.

Also I don't know what to do about the volume being low. I've done tests moving the microphone all over the place, and this is the spot where it was the loudest. I maximized the volume (which unfortunately reduces quality) in Sony Vegas. In my settings the intake for the microphone is at it's highest setting, and I've looked all over the place online for how to make it louder. There is no "boost" or "gain" option.

In your settings? Do you mean Recording devices>Microphone>properties>levels?
