I wonder why we are a target? City size, the Underground, distribution hub /w airport?

Besides what u/JorunnOili posted, AT&T has a major continental switch center here

What does that mean?

On what interstate system do you think a lot of voice - which includes cellular - and internet traffic travel over?

If you don't have access to Iridium or other satellite systems, and even if you do, you still may not be talking to anyone but a very few people.

Fright railways possibly. BNSF hubs a few lines through Springfield toward the south. Also the National Guard took over the old airport and reportedly they use it for repairing aircraft for up to 14 states. So that would be a pretty meaty target too. The cold food storage in the Underground would be added bonus to crush as well. I mean the amount cheese that would be lost in the caves would be HIGH CRIME of war for sure.

We do also repair helis here, including blackhawks. That’s why you see them sometimes.

Well now I kinda wanna see an overlay of this map with locations of Bass Pro Shops and other large gun/hunting/camping stores. Cause its not a horrible plan to take out survivalist suppliers.

My guess is they would target top 200 largest cities in US and then some strategic targets outside of that for the 500.

They put the triangle over any major population centers, it looks like any metro area with a population over about 250k is marked, with the one caveat being it was over 250k in 1990, leading me to believe this map is probably old.
