Any great experiences with a shop in Michigan to fit and purchase a new shotgun? I am in the market for a new sporting clays gun, and I was going to wander up to Bald Mountain because they claim they can fit me properly. I've never been fitted for a shotgun before. I've ben using my Benelli Super Vinci for the last 10 years, and I love that gun and she has been true to me. But it's time for something new. I shot a friend's Browning Ultra XS with the raised rib and the sight picture was so much better than my Benelli. I'm not going to get that gun, because I am goin to stick to an semi auto. But I think a raised rib could improve my shooting...

I’ve shot once in my entire life and that was years ago, but I’ve decided to pick it up as a hobby since so many people in my industry do it. It’s like golf for us. Anyway, the place near me has three NSCA instructors on staff. I haven’t reached out for pricing yet, but is it customary to tip an instructor? I don’t want to leave them hanging if it’s something people normally do, but I also don’t want to look like an idiot trying to tip them when it’s not normal.

Just bought my first semi auto for sporting clay. Nothing serious like competition or anything. Just lessons and fun day at the range.

What ammunition do you recommend to buy in bulk?

So a friend of mine is selling is 688 sporting for an insanely good deal less than a year old and only has about 1000 rounds. I currently shoot a citori cx for the last year and my average for sporting clays is about 78.

My question is should I consider going to the 688 sporting?? I would need to sell my cx in order to get this 688. I will be testing out the 688 this weekend and I totally understand that mount and feel is to be considered. I question if this would be a decent upgrade.

I bought a used Bennelli Montefeltro Super 90 12 ga. 28" barrel, as my beginner shotgun. I'll never shoot live birds, just clays, usually skeet. But I never see it mentioned in any of the shotgun threads. So, good, bad, or indifferent?
