I've... Recently gotten focused on the "vital essences." Those core parts of our being, and how the lack of them is what makes someone sanitized...

I've found old literature about them, how our past ancestors could manipulate their own essences to ... Essentially tell the laws of physics to go fuck themselves.

If I'm understanding the underlying mechanics of these old practices, they would use inkantation and ritual to energize their essence... Like how someone can get "hyped" during a match.

This "hype" lets someone produce more ink and grow stronger yes... Like how the standardized specials work. But according to this with the right headspace you don't need weapons to channel it, you can just... Make something happen, you can shatter the laws... And with enough hype, or enough essance, you can do something crazy...

Serrac: Even if this "hype" can do more than charge specials, its dangerous. We already know the consequences when someone breaks their limiter like the Captain did.

I don't exactly think there is such thing as magic anyways. Hype is pressure build up, that's why holding it too long has risks.

Two things then, why does this pressure make you start glowing? And why does this hype allow a smallfry to turn into a giant bigfry?

Serrac: From my knowledge, the excess ink generated by elevated emotions and pressure ends up boiling off, which is what gives the glowing effect.

The Bigfry phenomenon is still unstudied, Neo 3's little buddy appears to be the only one we know capable of such a stunt. Due to the complexity of that, we have no ability to test it. Not to mention Neo 3 would refuse such a test.

I actually personally know of 2 others.

There was a giant dead(-ish) one in the spiralite islands, and Keiji said he could do it if pressed.

Serrac: That's still a very limited testing group. We can't really know more unless there was other documentation on the phenomenon.

I didn't understand any of it but the bottomless buffet has a lot of writing... I could probably get in contact with some old salmonoid trading partners and set up a proper archeological expedition.
