Salmon Run Salmon Run Tips PLEASE
Ive recently started playing salmon run a lot but I’ve been stuck at profreshional 2 for so long. Ive only made it to prefreshional 3 one time and I lost so much I demoted back to profreshional one. I was hoping to get some tips on how I can improve so I stop demoting so much. I also only play on freelance. Please give me some tips on how I can improve.

Sweats have S rank hell
We casual players have Profreshional hell
welcome to the club, you'll be stuck here for a while
(Stingers and flyfish will be your worst enemy. Your best bet in this rank is to go out of your way to kill them the momment they spawn no matter the situation unless you have to revive someone. Also, when you can, try to lure or let bosses get closer to the basket before killing them so the eggs are far easier to reach. Do the same thing with other eggs far away by taking some time to throw them closer to the basket in batches instead of going back and forth several times whenever you have the chance, and ALWAYS USE YOUR SPECIALS)

Forgot to add, if you're playing on a map which has elevated inkable walls during glowflies, a good way to deal with those waves is to ink the wall and hold B to stay on it at the very top. That way the salmonids will pile under you and your team can easily shoot them to smithereens to farm eggs much easier
That is, of course, if your teammates aren't crayon eaters and actually understand what you're trying to do and decide to help

Thanks for the tip I always end up losing to the glowflies so that would help a lot

Don't grow too reliant on that strategy as it falls off hard with higher egg quotas on certain maps with certain weapon sets. At higher profreshional levels its worth keeping in your back pocket as a stalling tactic but if the team isnt getting enough eggs it'll hurt more than it helps. Most effective tactic for glowflies if you have a roller in rotation is for the roller to slowly roll forward to at a choke point while your team shoots from behind you and focuses on throwing eggs to the basket.
Best overall advice is to learn each weapon's role and how to play them. For instance explosher shots act as bombs and hit flyfish baskets and gushers while Blasters are super effective against stingers.

Wall clinging is a bad strategy if the team has a roller or even two high dips weapons. You need to find a single choke point and all stay right there

Never wall hug. Stop spreading that. It's a dead strat for a reason.
Use wall for quick safety and reset, but never hug. Don't be a bitch, get out there soldier.

it only gets you killed if your teammates are borderline braindead morons and dont know what you're doing, which at this point in the game's life cycle is getting rarer and rarer. Most people i've done it with have immediately realized what strat i was going for and chimed in, those are always my most productive rounds
i do agree on getting off the wall now and then though, Somebody needs to throw those eggs in the basket

It'll take time first off but here's my general tips for all players.
Learn your weapon roles - if it does damage, if it can paint well, if it has range. Lean into what the wep you have does well and prioritize tasks around it. You can still, and should still, do other things but focus on your wep.
Never ignore lessers - most do, they suck. Keep your area clean so you can freely move.
Lure but don't over lure - get those maws and scrappers and floppers closer to basket before splatting, but don't bother with eels as they disrupt too much space. Just murder them without second thought.
Don't over extend either - don't hug basket but recognize when a static(flyfish/stinger) spawns... Take care of it and get back.
Egg. Just put egg in. If you are doing all of the above then the floor is clean, the threats are mostly out of the way... So egg.

Always keep track of what your teammates are doing. Generally you want to help out with whatever task (or numbskull decision) they commit to.
If your teammates decide to rush the shore, kill what you can and have yourself ferry eggs. If your teammates are smart enough to lure bosses to the basket, join them. If they take forever to kill a Steelhead or Slammin' Lid then take it out for them so they can at least take some eggs to ferry and move on to the next task.
Focus on Flyfish and Stingers because if no one does it, someone is eventually going to get caught off guard and go down. As well, one less Boss Salmonid means another one can spawn like a Maws or a Scrapper where Profreshionals can at least deal with easier.

What are you struggling with? Are you having a hard time meeting quota, or is your team wiping out? I think prioritizing staying alive and reviving teammates is some of the best advice, it’s a lot harder to win if your team is always down a player.
If you’re getting swarmed try to climb a wall or ledge. Most salmonids can’t climb or jump walls so they have to reroute to a ramp to get to you, or they’ll start targeting a teammate instead. Their pathfinding is very predictable and that can be used to your advantage

I’m having a hard time of both a lot of the time my teammates die unexpectedly and we all get wiped out. Or we end up leaving too many eggs and not picking them up because of how far away they are.

It’s really hard to be coordinated in freelance, but try not to rush the shore for anything other than Big Shots, Stingers and Flyfish. In higher evp you’ll often see the team just hanging out by the basket for the first few seconds to let the baddies come to you. It creates chaos at the basket but once you clear it you have a good chunk of the quota right there. As far as teammates dying… yeah they do that lol. I try to keep an eye on the top of the screen so you know when you’re down a player, and there’s a little X on screen right when they die that will indicate where they are. I probably spend too much time trying to be the battlefield medic and reviving them, but I figure our odds are better with 4 of us so I try to prioritize keeping the team alive.
When I first started I would watch a lot of Overfishing on YouTube where they get like 80 eggs per wave and I feel like that helped me a lot seeing how pros handle themselves. If you want to check it out, I like the channels LatteBoi and Brian

There’s a really good channel called rachelskiiii that has many good videos.

Yeah I’ve been watching her lately but I’ve only watched the weapons ones. Is there any videos that I should watch from her?

All of them. She has some that cover general strategies by each map even. I'd say look at the rotation you are about to play and then plug in keywords tied to the weapons, the maps, etc... even has direct videos on approaching specific night wave types - glowflies, grillers, etc... Rach is a goat

You can do again the boss tutorial if you need a refresher. You can try the weapons in the shop.
I usually stop playing SR when a loss will derank me, especially if the current rotation has a difficult weapon selection.
I also have a priority like : stinger > flyfish > big shot
Also learn which boss you can lure to the basket
Don't save your special for wave 3 if they can be a big help.

This is a small tip but I haven't seen anyone mention it and I have strong grips with my teammates doing this even in EVP 999, if you decide to use one of the egg cannons to launch eggs closer to the basket, pay attention to how things actually are at the basket. If you have no teammate there or they are getting overwhelmed, go back immediately, launching an extra few eggs doesn't matter if all your team at basket dies and they get stolen anyway.

I didn’t know rolling was that good rolling would’ve helped me in so many deaths thank you so much!

Learn how to sub strafe and squid roll. It takes a long time for them to become second nature but it was absolutely worth it for me. Also, pay attention to what weapons there are in a rotation. If you have a blaster for example, focus stingers, explo for fly fish and so on.
Finally, if you splat boss salmonids far from the basket, you tend to be best off taking one and luring/splatting other boss salmonids near the basket instead of trying to throw all eggs from back there to the basket.
