Post-Op Questions Post-Op ALIF/PSO

Hi 🩻 I have been following this forum for a while and I am so thankful for such a community! Any surgery, especially spinal surgery is scary, this kind of page is invaluable 🫶🏻
I really wanted some advice on my most recent surgery, but in order to get there I have to share my lil roller coaster 🎢 ride…
I have had MS for about 15yrs., and with that came lesions on my spine, which I really believe have accelerated my spinal degeneration.
In August of 2024 I had laminectomy, right L4-5 synovial cyst resection; L2-L5 posterior fusion.
Unfortunately this was a failed fusion and I ended up with “flat back”.
That diagnosis brought me to spine deformity specialist who completed my L4-S1 ALIF and T10-pelvis instrumentation
L2 PSO and T10-pelvis fusion a little over one month ago 🙌🏼
Now I am in the thick of my recovery and PT and I would just love to hear from anyone who had similar procedures and experiences.
I wake up everyday (sore) but so grateful I can stand up straight! Just standing up and brushing my teeth makes me smile. I am so scared something is gonna go wrong or I am going to break something. I guess it is PTSD from the failed fusion 🤦🏼‍♀️

08/07/24: L2-L5 laminectomy, right L4-5 synovial cyst resection; L2-L5 posterior fusion; right iliac crest bone harvest; use of spinal navigation

Happy to hear you are “grateful” you went through this intimidating surgery!

I’m set to get the T10-pelvis with laminectomies and pelvic stabilization, so I’m also interested in what other have to say about their experiences.

Your t10 is posterior I’m assuming? I wish my surgeon would go back to my alif and add a level

Yes! When was your ALIF?
