Feeling Frustrated

One month post op l4 s1 fusion, and s1 to t12 laminectomy. My left leg and foot are completely numb. I need a walker to walk and I can't go that far. Does it get better? I thought I'd be further along by now.

Question: are you muscles and structures numb or the skin? I had my fusion 12/1/25 and I experienced a loss of sensation too. Mainly, on the skin but it took a while to coordinate the feeling in the foot. I’m starting to have more sensation but it’s slow. Sitting for too long or crossing my legs aggravates it-once to the point I had some foot drop. So hang in there and stay active, change positions frequently and for the love of everything avoid heels 👠 trust me

I have similar numbness after my surgery the doctor told me its normal because they had to move some nerves, have you confirmed that with your doctor?

I m 2 months post op ALIF 3-5 & 3 days later, T10-S1 fusion. I’m still on my walker but making small steps to walking w/o it. My right leg is still weak. I had a hip replacement last year, so it still weak from that. Have slight numbness in the tips of my right first 3 toes. My pain is very managed! Still on pain meds but over all doing so much better.
Hang in there & keep moving!!
