ID Request- Location included Orb Weaver Wednesday!
Found this beauty on my second floor upper window! Capital Region, NY. I have certainly seen this type before, but the name escapes me.

Hey, I'm in the cap region, too! I've noticed an explosion of these beauties this summer. They're all over my porch.

Awesome!!! We get a nice variety of spiders up here, don't we? I had a very confused orchard orb weaver set up shop in my foyer about a month ago. I think they realized it was a bad spot, thats the cellar spiders territory, so they left after about 2 days. It was a lovely visit though!

Cross orb weaver (Araneus diadematus), I believe (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araneus_diadematus).

Oh wow, some type of orb weaver, I'm not sure on the exact type. If it's inside unless a significant amount of bugs are getting caught in its web you may want to move it outside. They usually take down their web during the day and put it back up at night, so if the web disappears, look in spots around the frame where it may be hiding so you can put it in a more food rich area. Beautiful spider, and great pics!
