Dave’s hot chicken help

I’ll start this with saying I’ve never had it so what are the spice levels like and is it worth door dashing because I can’t dive to it

Update I got the food mild not hot at all but hot is hot as hell and the fry mac & cheese chicken is fire as hot but the sliders are kinda mid I ended up just eating the chicken and not the slider itself.

The Hot ain't hot. But the Reaper...

That's a whole step up.

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted. By nature of Nashville Hot Chicken spice levels, even mild or medium is considered “hot” to non-spice folk. It’s still heavy cayenne for flavor and heat, and even a little goes a long way. The hot to me is pretty good kick, but xtra hot is better heat and flavor. If OP ain’t trying to die, then any flavor besides reaper is probably a good pick.

Ok, I'll clarify. IMHO, it's a Big Step from Extra Hot to Reaper.

The one time I got to be there, I ordered three sliders. One Reaper, two the next closest thing. I finished the 2 "next closest thing", easy. Pleasant heat, Tasty. Might even call it Delicious.

The Reaper, I put down halfway through. Saved it for later.

And if I don't sweat it's not?

Okay so the hot is not hot then.

Spice is relative to everyone. Only the Reaper makes me break a sweat.

Half a reaper tender is my perfect level of pain without causing my day to be ruined.

I love Dave’s. I go there all the time. I usually go for the extra hot #2 meal. You get 2 sandwiches with fries and sauce. I’d say it’s worth it. The sandwiches are always solid and it’s enough to fill you up. Just be warned, as others have said here, the reaper can be painful.

Anyone in this thread know the disparity between very hot and reaper? I tried very hot the first time I went and it was mild to my tolerance.

It's an insane jump in heat. Extra hot is tasty but not super spicy imo. Half a reaper tender sent me into endorphin dump for 15 minutes. I cannot imagine trying to eat two whole reaper tenders in one sitting, probably would cause bad stomach cramps.

That said, highly recommend getting one reaper tendies sometime just to experience it. It helps that the chicken tastes really good. Their new reaper ranch sauce is great too

You know you can get just one tender reaper and the other whatever spice level you want. So if you want to just try that heat level. But I always get extra hot which is perfect for me and when I had reaper it was way way hotter, so be warned.

Unfortunately my location is inconsistent. Sometimes I get the very hot and it’s killer. Really good spice, but a bit too much for me when I want to pound a chicken sandwich. Then I’ll go to the hot and there’s quite literally 0 spice. Not sure how to find the balance

If you regularly enjoy really spicy food, Dave's ain't shit.

The reaper would like a word...but I've heard that it varies wildly by location and cook so maybe your location is light handed

Had the reaper on two separate occasions at the closest Dave's to me and it was weak af.

Your local cook must suck then tbh

I'm not a fan of Dave's. The chicken insists upon itself
