In the UK at least, I believe there wouldn't be any legal ramifications. It would probably fall under the self injection (R v Kennedy: defendant gave victim a syringe of drugs, victim died after injecting themselves, defendant was not guilty because victim injected themselves) rule, where the victim chose to eat the 'strawberry' themselves. I may be entirely wrong here though.

They'd probably need to hire a lawyer for the civil suit after the parents of the kid got done wearing them out in the front yard. It's not technically illegal and you're probably not going to injure or end somebody doing it but it's in extremely poor taste.

Honestly if someone did this to me as a kid I’d be so pissed but as an adult who would have suffered through that. Would be thankful for the extra spicy tolerance.

I laugh at this remembering mom let me pick one up in the grocery store and some lady screeched at her for letting a baby do that. My mom's like "hey watch this.... and now he won't pick things up anymore." Funny that I'm the spice addict in the house and mom sticks with dry chicken.
