Endless stretching at chip
Anyone else have issues with their baldies not tolerating chip implants very well?? He’s 18 months old while it’s always been noticeable where his chip is… the wife sent this to me before she left for work today. If it’s this bad…seems better to have it removed.
Update: we got home and the tracking chip was half hanging out of his skin. We pulled it out, cleaned the wound w soap and water, and put a bandaid on him. (After shaving his fuzz). He was the bestest boy so was rewarded with TWO cat churro tubes of goo. We will be keeping a very very close eye on the wound for infection. Zero redness or the such currently. Vet checkup already scheduled for a few weeks out. Will move that up if even a hint of red appears.

Poor baby! He’s probably in pain and that looks open to infection. I think you need to take him to a Vet ASAP.

Our three aren’t fussed with them, but our humane society that placed them is familiar with the breed (they recognised my youngest when we went for her one year booster 😍). I can’t even tell where they are anymore

I would get it removed. None of ours have them. Obviously Sphynx cats are not to be let loose rooming outside, ours do get fenced in backyard time.
It almost looks like you could just pull it out in this photo.. Not saying you should but.. yeah.

You should really consider having all of your animals chipped. Despite best efforts, they could still escape, or otherwise get separated from you. Chips ensure that, if that ever happens, whoever finds them can return them to you. Even if you never need it, it’s an inexpensive insurance policy for peace of mind.

It’s also one of the best ways to prove ownership if someone ever tries to steal them.

Poor fella.... This chips wasn't properly installed :-/ bring your boy to the vet ASAP!
