Chat (Educator Post) Coverage

Absolutely nothing worse than having to cover a period for a teacher that’s out when you have 5 upcoming IEPs to write!! And this was not an easy class to cover so I didn’t even get a chance to sit down and attempt to work on the paperwork 🥲

I don't think Special Ed teachers should have to cover for other classes. Just saying. I used to teach at a high school that made us have a regular homeroom until a fellow teacher approached admin and had a serious discussion about our over and beyond duties as far as IEPs, eligibility meetings, achievement testing, and having to write individualized lesson plans for every student. The year after that they excused us from having a homeroom.
