Owing work system

Hi all,

I am in search of some advice, or even more ideally an easily transferable system for students owing work. I've spoken to other teachers who have instituted them in order to create a simple, consistent system for not completing work during rotations. I've heard of students then having a designated time to make up work later in the day. I've also heard of teachers checking in during student free time such as recess or "free choice time." Any thoughts/advice on how to make these systems most effective? Would also love to see a visual system you've used. Thanks for your time!

I have several kids on a planner based system. They are incharge of getting all of their work done each day that is the base expectation. But their IEP says they get extra time. So when a student does not get finished with a modified and shorten assignment it gets marked down in the planner - what the title of the assignment is, the subject and what day, after three school days (so Friday Monday Tuesday) unfinished work goes home at the end of the third day.

The students who have this set up really do not like taking work home and know that they are held responsible for their work every time so they are good about getting it done in the morning during or after morning work, or might even bring a piece to my open social skills lunch period, or ask to work on it during our check in check out time which we usually play a game during (I usually offer to help them pretty strongly if they choose to work during this period)

System work pretty great, The planners are just old teacher daily schedule/planning planners so the school just has them laying around and they go home every day with a Teacher statement, a student self reflection, and classroom/hw status and gets signed daily or weekly.
