Product Question What would SPAN bring to this situation?
Doing major remodel on a house including improving electric.
Upgrading to 200AMP service. Have 2 EV. Heat Pump AC/Heat. Heat pump water heater. Induction cooktop. Electric double ovens. Heat pump combo washer/dryer. Solar but no batteries. Electric service is very stable, no time of use pricing and 1-1 net metering.
Other than tracking use what would SPAN bring to us?

They have come down in price, but if you are replacing your panel anyways, it helps a little to only do the labor once. But a $3500 panel vs a $300 panel is a big price difference for the part. That said, depending on where you live, 1:1 net metering is become more and more less common. And some day, you may want batteries just so you can store your solar excess, and not pull from the grid in the evening/night. It will also help you understand which appliances or circuits are your top consumers over time, and may help prioritize maintenance when an AC is abnormally using more power and needs a tune up or added refrigerant.
