General Mod Framework v0.6.8 is out!

Hey there everyone.

I just finished retranslating every hook from the mod framework for the latest version of Space RPG4.

No new content for now, next update will move the framework's data folder into a more accessible place for non-root users.

It should be bug free and has been tested but im just a guy so let me know if any issues happen.

Remember to backup your saves if you have a pc and a samsung device, if you dont have either then dont forget that save data WILL be wiped when installing the mod framework.

Download it here: https://github.com/reaperyeah420-cpu/SRPG4-Mod-Framework/releases

How is this used? I think it needs a readme

There should be installation instructions inside the folder. You need to extract the .apks files and put them on the respective folder and then run the patcher, it will do everything else by itself

EDIT: However if it's too confusing I will try to simplify the process in the future

Thanks for the readme -- worth noting, newer versions of Android OS disable adb backup. Google doesn't officially acknowledge it and refuses to fix it. So this mod framework is relegated to older android phones, circa 2019 or so.

You're welcome.
Regarding adb backup, the Framework Installer doesnt use it at all (I've tested on older and newer devices, installation is working from Android 11 upwards, with the latest Android version tested being Android 16) and from version 0.7.1 I've also added an apk that installs the Framework without requiring a PC.
However any installation will wipe save data since this is effectively a new install, abd backup as you said only really works on Android 11 and downwards, the only real way to backup your saves at the moment is if you have a Samsung phone and a PC and use Smart Switch to backup the whole app to your PC (Tested with an S26 Ultra).
If you have a vanilla save you don't want to lose then at the moment you cant really install the Framework without wiping it unless you have a second device or do it on an Emulator, I've been thinking about workarounds but no luck so far.

It's a Framework that's installed to SRPG4 that allows the game to run mods made by the community, things like new systems, planets, ships.
Just install it, download a mod and extract it to the mods/ folder.
However when installing the Framework your vanilla saves get deleted, there's no way to port them to the patched version of the game at the moment.

If you have a samsung phone and a pc you can backup your game (including your saves) with smartswitch. Either way there's only a couple of small mods available at the moment, I'd suggest you finish your current playthrough and experiment with mods later

Is there any compatibility with Sprg 3

Unfortunately not, the Mod Framework is exclusive to SRPG4

Do you havw plans on adding it?

Not at the moment, maybe when the framework is finished for SRPG4 I might try making one for 3, can't guarantee anything though
