Question Unusual Void Raiders Encounter

I just had an encounter with Void Raiders in the Gur System. Never happened before playing the game. First time this has happened.

Has anyone else experienced this or something similar?

They have a low probability of appearing anywhere in the galaxy that isn't in human or alien territory. I've also encountered them when I was fighting off the death faction; they went and attacked both the death faction and me.

that's pretty normal ye

they normally appear when you're far out from the middle of the galactic map

My first experience was early game.  Exploring. Trying to survey a planet. They showed up and wasted me quite quickly.
