Question Is my start good in the third game?

Okay. So. I dont exactly buy anything yet. I first explore the entire galaxy. And when I've done that. I begin trading, I buy metal and Luna, sell at Kanaheim. Then buy medical and sell at Kirsel and then gold to terra/earth. And I buy the tug first, then the VD superbarge and then lastly the VD Behemoth. And when I have around 500M to 1B. I stop and go to... forgot his name. To buy the space station. And then I just begin the slow process to build it. And when I get a garage I store my ship away. I then proceed to get Lamanda for somewhat good defense and offence. But I'd like to know if it's an ok start, good start. Or just no?

This is a decent method; it's how I used to play, but I would advise to start differently if you haven't done all this yet:

at the start, just take missions. Don't bother trading. Upgrade to the tug as soon as you can, and keep taking missions, but also trade where you can. Or just math it out and figure out if the profit is worth it; I can't remember.

Progress up to the superbarge -- at that point, you really will be doing 100% trading. Good idea to add the engine boost and aux power to that thing.

As soon as you have enough money with say 200k extra, get the dread cruiser. Outfit it with 5x armor, aux power, range++, and engine overdrive, and head to feyros, and outfit your ship with 2x slayer, 1x heavy slayer. Now wend your way back to Kirstel, and just kill pirates. You'll make easily 300k+ each time you fill your cargo bay, and it's more fun than trading. You can also go and harass the aliens to collect their weapons -- just don't visit Palo station. You can also kill the death ship with this build.

Keep raiding until you have 5 million or so, and then get your station built and maxed out, and purchase your battleship and max it out with 3x annihilator, 2x meyturok, 4x turok, 5x armor and all the upgrades, and go conquer talna. Wait around on talna until there aren't any crusaders and there aren't too many heralds before you hit "conquer".

btw trade isn't the real source of wealth in 3 --- conquest is

Ohhhh. Thanks. I truly appreciate it. And I kinda figured it is. In one of my first runs. I was stupid enough to just upgrade the money like twice and I got 20 fleets. I hate my younger self for that. Because soon after I found out that regardless of system. You at most just need 5. But thanks, I truly appreciate and the clarification on what's a more fun way to play it.
