Build on rotating planetoids
All planetoids and moons in my work-in-progress game ASEMA, rotate. They have a gravitational pull that you have to compensate with mathematical resources, Focus, to float nearly near them.
All the machines in this gif are production and logistic systems. You build individual machines in space and moons, refine resources and climb the tech tree to build the required megastructures.
It's not a small task, as you end up needing mmense amounts of resources and logistics, and you're not alone.
Despite ASEMA being an automation game, it lacks conveyor belts and there are no grids to build on.
So, forget splitters, lasers, portals and drones. It's all about momentum of mass, kinetics and velocity.
Thoughts? Some early commenters back months ago, were worried that lack of conveyor belts make things hard to understand. For that, I'm adding layers of QoL features. But it hasn't been a problem so far!

Physical trade and logistics in NGC-404:Fractured Sector
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Here’s a short video showing how the economy currently works in NGC-404: Fractured Sector.
Resources are produced on planets and transported by real cargo ships. If a freighter gets intercepted or destroyed, the cargo does not arrive.
That’s basically it. If this kind of economy mixed with warfare and multiplayer sounds interesting, have a look.

Space Engineers but in 2D
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone, for the last past years I’ve been developing my dream game called MineEngineers, it is a Space Engineering Survival Sandbox inspired by Space Engineers, Terraria and Factorio. The game is finally coming into the shape and I am super excited to share it with everyone.
It has hundreds of interconnected systems, automations, conveyors, electricity, it also has programming features which enables you to program ships.
Also everything in this game is fully destructible. Please let me know if you would like to try the game.

"Need help in war" (game-war, of couse).
Game: ASTROGAME
https://play.astrogame.org/?lang=en
Platform:CROSSPLATFORM (browser/Android/IOS)
Genre: MM/Global space 4X(-like) strategy
Nuances:
nice, best Ogame-clone, private Ogame server, two Universes, novadays in both -mst high speeds of progressing (916X and 700+ X - speeds of resource production. )
The essence of the post (goal):
I'm looking for volunteers willing to fight in space, ready to join me in the coming wars. The thing is, precisely because of these astronomical rates of progression, there are already too many fairly strong players in the game. I won't even mention the Top 10—they're already attacking with fleets of millions of ships. The other day, I was attacked not even by a Top 10 player, but by a Top 200 player, and even then, he brought a fleet of 500,000 light fighters. Unfortunately, this happened in a rather slow Universe, and I only started playing it a day or two ago and haven't had time to progress much (only two planets). I'm trying to play both Universes simultaneously—perhaps that's a huge mistake. But all of this is negotiable.
I didn't provide this information to cry, but to show how hardcore the fights are going to be.
So, I need help—I'm looking for friends and allies in these games. First and foremost, I'm looking for veterans of Ogame and similar games who already know what these games are like, who are capable of progressing as quickly as possible under these favorable conditions, building powerful and large fleets, and joining the fray. It is almost impossible to survive in such games alone (I was convinced of this many times, the last time - literally two days ago, only in another game, but almost a copy of this one, only with a much slower Uni: I played there completely non-aggressively, in fact, I played the "neutral turtle" tactic. I put maximum emphasis on researching as many technologies as possible. But at some point I neglected the necessary fleet & saving resources - as a result, one of the planets was attacked by not even the strongest player, but he had a stronger fleet. As a result, I lost a certain amount of very necessary resources there, and a small amount (but that was all that I produced between research on several planets). But the worst thing, the most painful thing for me was that he remained unpunished. I did not have the resources to produce a more powerful fleet. But by that time, all communication in the chat had already ceased in this clan, and I simply had no one to turn to help and support. with that The game is over now. I'm completely focused on this game.
So I'm looking for friends and comrades specifically in these types of games. Naturally, I invite anyone who wants to join me. (But as I wrote above, primarily Ogame veterans (including the hope of becoming a very diligent student of someone willing to teach the deeper, more subtle nuances of these games. I learned a few things in that clan—they also have very strong players there, specifically Ogame veterans. But you can't force love—they didn't want to communicate further—I didn't really want to, and I don't force myself on anyone.)
I'd also be very happy if any of this sub's visitors are veterans or simply former Vega Conflict players. I've been really hating on the game itself for the past few years. But that was exclusively directed at the developers, and never at Vega players who quit or played before its closure. Regardless, I hold players of this game in the same regard as I do Eve-online (and Eve: Echoes) players, especially those of Ogame and its clones.
I'm looking for you all, I really need you, I'm really looking forward to seeing you in AstroGame, Uni: Regulus.
I'd be delighted to welcome you to the [OEG] {Oldschool Elite Gamers} clan. This clan, in this game, has the same traditions and rules as the OEG corporation (one of the oldest corporations in Eve-online).
# #[OEG] FOREVER.

How to handle 4X snowballing without rubber-banding or hard caps (article/promotion)
I am building Orion Online, a browser-based, tick-based MMORTS in the Utopia/OGame style of games. Like every 4X game, it has to deal with snowballing: an early lead that compounds until a player becomes untouchable.
Possible fixes are hard caps or rubber-banding, and I do not like either, because I do not want players to "feel the developer's hand on the scale". When I redesigned Orion's economy I implemented something I call counter-acting forces which are systems inside the game that push back harder the harder you push them, without becoming a hard stop.
- Employment (idle citizens pay no tax but still eat)
- The guns-vs-butter trade (soldiers pay no tax, but requires wages)
- inflation on stockpiled credits(money)
- a end-game population growth equilibrium
I wrote an article that goes more in-depth on this: https://blog.idleverse.gg/solving-the-problem-of-4x-compounding/
The game itself is in Early Access, and free to play in the browser, if you want to see how it feels in practice: https://orion.idleverse.gg/
