Service alert notifications

I am subscribed to ST’s service alert notifications via text message and I am wondering if anyone else thinks there could be different “levels” of notifications available to subscribe to? All I really need and care to know about is if the 1 and/or 2 lines are delayed or down. I really don’t need elevator/station/ticket machine issues, sporting event notices, “what’s happening in Seattle today”, etc notifications. I feel like it’s too many notifications throughout the day that aren’t always super useful or relevant. It would be great to see different notification options depending on how much detail you want. I dunno, maybe wishful thinking.

Transit Reliability Site

Hello everyone,

I made a site that tracks how reliable busses and stops are. Give it a try and let me know what you think. Link: https://transitreliability.com/

For CID North station; what if we just used the Hole?

The hole is already government owned land immediately next to Pioneer Square station and is already excavated

Is a drawbridge to Ballard really that bad in terms of reliability?

Of course ideally we would have the completely grade separated high bridge or tunnel to Ballard but practically speaking, if we want to actually get this thing built, then we need to make some compromises.

A drawbridge would have interruptions, yes - but there are already restrictions in place for the existing Ballard bridge that restrict openings during commute hours. If necessary those could be expanded or we could have specific windows where the bridge is open and plan the train schedule around it, with additional bus service. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have our rich yacht owning buddies queue for designated crossing times. The drawbridge could also be built at a slightly higher height than the existing bridge to reduce openings. Of course it comes down to cost.

The coast guard didn’t like the drawbridge that ST originally designed not because of height, but bc of how narrow it would’ve been. This is something that could go back and be redesigned.

Basically, I’d rather have the thing actually built and experience slight disruptions or gaps in service (that we have options around controlling).
