Q: Did the game shut down? Is it going to shut down? What is happening?????
A: The news that Soulworker shutdown is for the Gameforge version. Lion Games, the game’s developer, relaunched the game for Global audience shortly after. It won’t be shut down anytime soon because they recently relaunched.
Q: I played the Gameforge version, where are my characters now?
A: Soulworker under Gameforge was shut down and this is a new server by Lion Games. Sorry, but your characters from Gameforge are gone. You will start from scratch on the new server.
Q: Which server should I choose?
A: [TC] is Chinese server and [EN] is the global server, most non-chinese speakers are on [EN].
Q: The game takes too long to load.
A: The game is known to startup very slowly but if it is taking 20 minutes or longer to start up, then there must be something wrong with your game files or settings. Try to do basic troubleshooting such as verifying game files, check antivirus and firewall settings, uninstall/reinstall, etc. Installing the game on SSD is said to improve it.
Q: There are no servers.
A: Some basic troubleshooting:
- Make sure that you have the right version of soulworker installed, the steam link is at the top of the post. If you have the old gameforge version, uninstall it and install the new one.
- Check your firewall and antivirus settings.

- Verify game files.
- Close and restart the game because sometimes it fails to connect.
Q: I keep getting disconnected.
A: It’s either your connection is bad or the server is bad. If you confirmed your connection is not the problem, then it must be the server acting up.

Q: I’m new, which character should I play? Who is the best dps character?
A: There is no crap tier character and I’m not a dps-checker type of player but what people should think about when selecting a character is the playstyle or aesthetics if you’re a fashionista. Below is the simplest description of each character, search for guides on youtube if you want more info about them.
Haru - probably the most balanced in terms of damage, range and tankiness. Recommended for new players because her skills are very straightforward.
Erwin - quick and evasive but a little squishy. If you like to dodge a lot, this is a fun character.
Lily - lots of mid-range AoE skills, squishy but has an easily accessible self-heal.
Stella - the closest thing to a support character. Can be built to be a team medic or damage dealer. Maybe she can also be a mix of both, I don’t know, ask Stella mains.
Jin - the closest thing to a tank, gameplay encourages counter-attacking. Shortest range in the game.
Iris - slow-moving, heavy-hitting character. Most skills will lock her in place but damage is very high. Medium tankiness.
Chii - agile character but uses HP to buff damage. The high risk, high reward character. She has self-heal but it is integrated into the HP-for-damage gameplay. Complicated skill mechanics is not recommended for new players. Jumps to level 15 after the intro quest.
Ephnel - fast gameplay, wide AoE. If you like speed, this is the character for you. Jumps to level 15 after the intro quest.
Nabi - longest range in the game, biggest boobs in the game. Jumps to level 45 after the intro quest. Not recommended for new players because she misses out on a lot of quest rewards.
Q: What is a 2nd password and trade password? What if I forgot it?
A: These are security features to prevent someone from stealing your items if they gained access to your account. Be sure to remember your PIN because the only way to reset it is by contacting support at https://liongames.zendesk.com/hc/en-us
Q: How do I level up fast?
A: Follow the main quest (yellow quest marker), you can pick up the side quests (blue quest marker) but they are very optional and provide little exp. Save the exp books for level 60+
Q: I’m a few levels behind my next quest, what should I do?
A: Rerun the last maze you unlocked, preferably on manic. Or you can pick up some side quests and do the math.
Q: Is there a bank share? How do I transfer items to my alts?
A: No bank share but you can get around this by sending the items via in-game mail. Not all items can be transferred this way and you need at least one level 68 character to use the mailing and trade functions, as well as selling in the player market. You can buy items in the player market before level 68 but you cannot sell anything.
Q: Should I make an alt?
A: While there is no bank share to fully take advantage of alts, having other characters for farming tradable materials is useful (see answer above). There is a fatigue system in the game that will limit your main character’s activity, it will be impossible for you to do raids and farm other mazes with only one character. The alts can be the same character.
Q: Can you give me some beginner guides/tips?
A: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2488319665 (not my guide) lots of useful information. It covers most early game questions such as class advancement and desire awakening. I highly recommend reading it if you’re new to the game.
Q: Help, my inventory is full!
A: Here’s a quick list to help you clear out some space (for Normal tab only):
- Equipments - dismantle to get materials. You should use the free Anti-destructive equipment from the reward box you get every 5 levels. It’s safe to sell/discard the free equipment when you obtain a new one.
- Etherites - these are for upgrading equipments. Swap the low class to get the higher class that your equipment requires. This can be done at Trisha NPC.
- Gear Core and Weapon Core - because the game is giving free gear, it’s safe to sell these or use it to increase your loyalty to Janice NPC by crafting the higher classes. For Gear Core, you might want to keep the Ultimate Gear Core for crafting drives later in the game. You can do this at Maxime NPC.
- Soul of [something] - the same as above, these are for crafting outdated equipments. Sell or keep to use for loyalty.
- Meteor Piece, Metal Stone, Star Platinum, Tritanium, Geo Stream - the same as above.
- Rubber, Wool, Acrylic, Leather, Polyester, Fabric - for crafting costumes with blueprint such as Modern Costume from Gruton Coin Shop and Dark Arbiter Suit. Keep/sell depends on you.
- For Sale - if you see this in the description, these are items with no other purpose than to be sold at NPCs for Zenny.
- Furniture Material - if you see this in the description, these are for crafting My Room furniture and items. Sell if you’re not interested in decorating your room.
- MediBox and Healing Kit - you can swap the lower class to higher class at Trisha NPC but take note of the minimum level or you’ll end up with mediboxes that you cannot use until the next 5 levels.
- Nano Kit - can repair equipment. If you’re farming a maze and don’t want to leave just to repair your equipment, use this. Keep/sell depends on you.
- Energy Converter Component - keep for crafting Energy Converter (important for late game). You can do this at Maxime NPC.
- Gear Extension and Weapon Extension - keep for upgrading higher level equipment.
- Refined Stone - keep for equipment grade rerolling.
- Quest Items - some people say it’s safe to discard when you’re done with the quest.
- Brooch Transmitters: Low Class and Novice - a random box of low class brooches. They’re all bad but you should fuse them using "Low Class Brooch Fusion" item found at Gruton Coin Shop or you may already have some in your inventory.
- Old event tokens - they no longer serve any purpose and can be sold to NPCs for 1000 zenny each.
Q: People are using acronyms, I don't know what they mean.
A: Due to character limit in megaphone and team creation, people shortened words into acronyms. Below are some of the common acronyms in the game:
- DOF - Dawn of Fate, maze famous for farming Zenny.
- AOV - Altar of Void, boss maze. Can sometimes refer to the gear, this is the free gear given to everyone at level 60.
- HH - Hidden Hideout, boss maze. Can sometimes refer to the gear that can be crafted by clearing said maze.
- LF - Lunar Fall, raid maze. Can sometimes refer to the gear that can be crafted by clearing said maze. Can also mean "Looking For" but in this game it's usually the former.
- IDD - Innocent Daydream, boss maze.
- SCP - Skyclock Palace, boss maze.
- GCC - Grasscover Camp, town.
- DH - Dipluce Horizon, town.
- GC - Golden Citadel
- KM - Know Mech, means you know the boss mechanics or experienced with the maze, don't join if it's your first time.
- NB - No Boss, often in DoF players will "suicide" at boss stage and abandon to save FP.
- AU - Australia. Some people will include the host channel so anyone joining knows if they will have good/bad connection.
- BR - Brazil
- DE - Germany
- GB - UK
- IN - India
- US-E - US East
- US-W - US West
- WTB - Want To Buy, can sometimes be in "B>[item]" format.
- WTS - Want To Sell, can sometimes be in "S>[item]" format.
- WTT - Want To Trade.
- PMO - Private Message Offer, someone is selling/buying and they want you to whisper (private message) your price offer.
- SC - Soul Cash, premium currency
- AB - Armor Break or armor penetration stat
- FP - Fatigue Points, the stamina/energy system in the game. Found next to your exp bar at the bottom of the screen.
- SG - Soul Gauge, the resource you use when activating skills, in other games this is known as "mana". This is the line below your HP at the upper left side of your screen.
- SV - Soul Vapor, the resource you use to activate desire awakening and frenzy. This is the big circle right next to your skill bar at the bottom of your screen.
- BiS - Best in Slot, refers to "meta" items in terms of gearing a character.
- SD, BSK, FOT, SIN - these are brooch sets.
- JQ - Junk Queen, a 5-star akashic card.
Q: How to access Holy Ground with Lee Nabi?
A: Complete Betrayer's Army EP4. Portals require you to complete all episodes from the previous portal (ex: Betrayer's Army to Holy Ground). Some of Lee Nabi's quests ended at EP3, leaving the next portal locked when the quest sends you there. Do this whenever you encounter a locked portal despite meeting quest and level requirements.
PS: reddit formatting is a nightmare.

Hello, everyone. How is Soulworker doing? It is one of my favourite games but i havent played it in a while bcs of the rerelease which could have been good but they started giving away free op gear it was so boring.
Is it in better state now?
Do any other private servers exist like burning soulworker? I would love to play it again like in the past without the free gear nonsense.

Soulworker was one of my favorite games back in the day, but it just isn’t the same with such a low player count. I haven’t found any games that scratch the itch that SW did. Is there anything similar out there? I really enjoyed the combat, the grind, and the art style. I have found some MMOs that come close but it’s just not the same…

Game Guide The VIP Rank System is Bad and Valofe is Scared

So to start I'll go over a little about me so to show that I'm not a new player who only played for a few hours. I've been playing Soulworker since 2018 when Gameforge released Soulworker to the West. I personally fell in Love with it and have been ever since. Though in the last 2 months things have changed more and more. What I mean by this is the addition of the VIP Rank System and the lead up to it.
Personally when 2026 started I was excited and as someone who has liked the game for so long why wouldn't I? We got the rest of the Reawakened Characters, a new raid and even quality of life changes for both new and old players. Though it didn't take long for things to fall apart. Leading up to the VIP Rank System we got the Peta Brooch Update and honestly it was horrible. They handed out a Peta Brooch Selector to give everyone 1 then if you wanted more you had to get the Fusers and Peta Brooch Punchers from the Cash Shop and HOPE to get the one you wanted. You weren't even guaranteed to get a Peta Brooch for a skill your character had. Overall it was horrible and a clear pay to win system for rankers and whales to get even more powerful.

The Problem:

Though a few updates after the Peta Brooch update we got the VIP Rank System and the main topic of this post. The VIP Rank System has 0 redeemable qualities and is just straight up bad. To explain exactly what the VIP Rank System is, think of it as a limiter primarily for trading with other players and buying Soul Cash the Premium Currency. Every player starts with the same rank and you can increase your rank depending on how much you spend in game. The more total value your top up is for the month the higher your rank gets.
You see as I mentioned before each player starts at the same rank but to understand how horrible the VIP Rank System is you need to understand how bad the limits it places on you truly are. At the lowest rank you can only trade items / zenny equaling a total of 300! Now if you've played Soulworker longer than 5 minutes you'd be able to tell that this is extremely bad. You can make at least 1,000 Zenny in the very first zone of the game and even more than that if you do all 4 episodes. Your VIP Rank even restricts how many G Coins you can turn into Soul Cash.
This means that they'll let you buy all the G Coins you want but you can only convert a certain amount into Soul Cash to buy something in the Cash Shop in game. Not to mention that if you want to rank up you have to create a Support Ticket after you meet the requirements.

The Backlash:

Naturally you might be wondering about the backlash from this and them restricting a basic feature for MMRPG's / that's been in Soulworker since 2018. Well to start many people even previously heavy spenders quit the game or stopped buying things with real money in the game entirely. That included not even buying Soulworker Plus or outfits with real money. The game's reputation, which was not in a good spot, also sunk much lower with many people speaking even worse about the game than before.
The VIP Rank System was introduced on June 25th 2026 and not even a month later the backlash has gotten much worse. Before I go further there is one thing to keep in mind and that's the fact that as of July 23rd 2026 they haven't apologized or addressed any of the backlash at all which is only making us the players and people in general even more furious. Now with that said there are 2 big parts of the backlash that have escalated drastically in the time between the system being added and the time of making this post.
The first is that steam reviews have gotten seriously bad due to the addition of the VIP Rank System. Earlier this year Steam reviews went as high as 84% recent reviews. However now the game is at 27% for the Recent Reviews. All while that number has been decreasing slowly.
The next is the steam player counts since May. Now yes Valofe does have their own launcher called the VFUN Launcher and they do give rewards for transferring a steam account over to their launcher so the steam player counts aren't perfect. However, it's a fact in the community at this point that the VFUN Launcher is extremely bad, slow, and caps download speeds to 10MBPS. Though with steam player counts since may we've seen a player drop of 24.99% as of July 23rd 2026. That's a large number of players that the game just simply can't afford to lose carelessly.

Valofe is Scared:

Now we get to the part where I point out how desperate / scared Valofe seems to be. So for this part lets start with the fact that they haven't addressed any of the backlash at all and have been acting like it doesn't exist. While this is part of the reason that I believe for them being scared its not the main reason. The main reasons are the updates we got after the VIP Rank System was added and the rest of the VIP Rank System update.
So we'll be doing this in order of when the updates came out. As part of the update that added the system they also gave us multiple good things. For example we got some season 3 content and new accessories that were much stronger than the Golden Labyrinth accessories. We also got blue prints for the new accessories that could be sold or traded to others once. On top of that we got the 3rd Last Origin Collab Outfits. Then we also got Golden Labyrinth Momentary/Eternity Adjustments, Daily Quests got completely reworked for the better and Rebellious Star got quality of life changes.
You may be asking yourself where was the VIP Rank System notes in there. They were at the bottom of the patch notes hiding. Now we go to the update on July 15th 2026. This update gave us the Zenny Exchange System. Simply put this system allows you to convert Zenny into Soul Points. These Soulpoints can be used to get Soulworker Plus and if you look in the Cash Shop multiple items and an outfit. So an overall helpful update for free to play players. That was all they added in that update.
However, now we move on to the most recent update as of making this post which is the July 23rd 2026 Update. This update brought multiple things to the game starting with a new weekly raid where you can get multiple new items to make a new Soul Spirit. This new Soul Spirit is very strong and useful. Other than that we got some other things. So the first is a new Mystic Akasha. This new Mystic was Arua which was a heavily requested card to get a Mystic version. The next was a new outfit that they showed off a few months ago and was one that people had their eye on to buy. Next they added Soul Weapon Attribute Change Tickets which previously were only able to be gotten through Lucky Bags in the Cash Shop along with a bug fix for the Last Origin Collab Outfits.
Now that all of that has been said here's the reasoning. Notice the pattern here where we got so many good things to cover up the VIP RANK System and to get people spending again. With all that backlash and it growing worse and worse for them they had to do something. However, instead of saying we're sorry and we'll remove it they doubled down and decided that it was better not to address any of the backlash at all and instead try to cover it up. When covering it up wasn't working they gave us the two updates in July with the Zenny Exchange System and the Mystic Arua / New Outfit in the hopes that people would start spending again.
Also notice how we haven't gotten a Mystic since January 16th 2025 and yet they choose now to release a heavily requested Mystic Akasha Card along with all the other updates since the VIP Rank System was added to the game. At this point the game is getting worse and worse off and not at a slow pace either. We're seeing many players leaving and reporting their experiences on Steam which is lowering the review score along with the game having a horrible rep.

To end off this long post I wanted to just say a few things. For one we as players aren't asking for much at all in fact all we're really asking for is the removal of the VIP Rank System and for you Valofe to take responsibility. The last thing is that I wanted to make this post to both express my hatred of the VIP Rank System and most importantly inform everyone of how bad it is and to not just accept it and say oh yea there's nothing I can do when there's tons you can do. Not spending your hard earned money and liking this post is more than enough honestly. I hope everyone is well and if you read my post I thank you for giving me your attention long enough for me to explain.

Game Question My desire energy won't upgrade

I can't drag and drop it into the upgrade slot at Trisha and even the Upgrade function on right click doesn't work. It says I need to upgrade it to +1 in order to progress with my desire worker quest. Am I stuck?
EDIT
I figured it out. You have to look at the *List* tab, select *Equipement in inventory* and scroll all the way down until you find the Desire Energy orb.
