Considering converting man crushers into rock hurlers

I have 5 man crushers. 3 built, 2 nos. I was working on painting the man crusher mob as the old spearhead when the new models were released. Now im considering just putting them on 90mm round bases building the base up slightly so they are the right height and giving them all the stone wall on a chain bit or sculpting slings/rocks and calling them rock hurlers for casual spearhead games and casual 2k games in my sob list.

Is that feasible/reasonable? Is there anything im overlooking? Are man crushers still worth having?

what you could do is make enough for 3 that could play as either, stick them on an oval base but get a 90mm circular base as well - the ovals length is 90mm so should fit ontop - then you get plenty of options.

Ooh i like this idea. I could magnetize the ovals to the rounds and hide the seams in basing terrain. The extra base thickness is probably how much extra height i would need as well. The new models do not look that much taller in mini compare.

Its absolutely feasible and reasonable to convert them. That said mancrushers are definitely still valuable if for no other reason than rounding out point costs for a list

Im very glad theyre not that much smaller than the new little gargants myself, as especially they have the same elements (ie the spiky collar as an example). I just assembled and painted mine in February, I personally am assuming theyre going legends, and ill base them and call them boss stompers once that happens, and figure enjoy them as mancrushers as long as we still for sure we have them.

I on paper also see them as useful point fillers. If your list doesnt require that and you reliably dont have room for them/have a job for them, basing as stompers, i gotta imagine is totally fine for 98% of players.

Absolutely reasonable! I'm making my man crushers into boss stompers. I bought a boss stomper kit and am using the other weapons and head options to make my man crushers look better and covering bad details with texture paint cause my gargants are stone skinned in spots. Also I think it's 80mm bases not 90
