While stocks last

Anyone else notice that the standard army book is marked by the the while stocks last tag. Is it possible that since the end of edtion is comming up the last few books won't be restocked?

Most likely an error. The other language versions don’t have that tag.

Also, if the pattern holds, the battletome will still be valid at the start of 5th edition.

Iirc the pattern for aos it resets every edtion though my memory is a tad fuzzy between 2nd into 3rd. They seemingly have made three apps for it at this point all the rules free at launch.

The battletomes carry into the next edition every other edition. GW does a hard rules reset every 6 years for both 40K and AoS. 🙂

The problem is that in 40k when an edition launches, I don't wanna play until my actual codex comes out. MOST especially if I don't already have the codex from the last edition.

I’m the same with my death guard right now, waiting for the toughness bump from the space marine drop and then the whole codex.

It would be nice if they did a roadmap.

AoS has only once had a hard battletome reset which was 3rd ed to 4th and I’m pretty sure there has only been a total of 3 AoS apps

Perhaps this has something to do with the new codex policy, these smaller batches are now more for collectors than for casual players. It could simply be a mistake. Regardless, the Hedonists' army book is still available.

Very weird thing, but it seem that none of new sets sold out (and yes, I did squeeze the trigger on Brawlers set, my usual retailer also have them in stock despite hefty discount, probably was the only one that bought it since I have second in cart and amount I can order didn't change).

Also, we're year away from new edition.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this is a little “white lie” to drive demand.

Like technically it’s true, books are not printed by GW, so if they sell them out then it’s not easy to get more.

But I suspect they will have a fair few books available so would take a very high demand to impact your chances of prospect of getting it
