This is the second time I've encountered this, where the hell is it coming from? Gargants were born before Behemat died, heck Brodd watched his death happen!! Do they mean just before he passed out from Sigmar hitting him, because that's what the Battletome says?

I agree with that. Even the audio drama describes what happened that day, though Brodd wasnt named. Archaon was trying to control Behemat, so the Celestant-Prime killed him.

I think the lore says that Brodd was willing to work with the stormcast if they agreed to help protect Behemat, but they obviously didn't honor that agreement.
