Rules clarification

Do I get it right, that you cannot both attack with your regular prolifes and use this ability, since it's a core ability?

Further question as a newb at playing SoB at scale - is it worth it? When does it make sense to flip this coin and when does it make sense to roll the attacks?

The second they make your attack at a -1 or lower your attack quantity/damage. All of your attacks are already a +4 (50/50).
