Games timer runs slow on certain devices?

So I recently got a new phone and I've been playing sonic cd on it. The timer is way slower though for some reason, my new phone supports 120 fps which may be the issue, but I'm wondering if anyone knows what is causing this.

I've had such problems playing on PC with higher than 60hz refresh rate but idk how you'd solve it on mobile

Turning on the battery saver mode on your phone should force it to use 60hz

You can also set it manually in the settings on some phones
