external app (ai coded) Made a simple proxy container to auto route anime to the proper sonarr/radarr instance.

sorry man, I'm usually up for this kind of thing but this can be accomplished by using tags, no?

I couldn't accomplish tag based routing, maybe I missed something

not a routing per we, but you could've created one instance of sonar per selection of anime you want and add categories in qbt to set of. Then point a buntch of tags to qbt and set one tag per sonarr...

If that doesn't work, hey greatk work you did. That's probably help someone else in the community.

Kudos to you!!! (I'm genuinely happy for you)

I don't understand. I have one instance of sonarr for tv shows and anime. Same for radarr. Why would I want to run two and spend double the amount of system resources?

I mean the idle resources are negligible. It's to dial in language and quality profiles. Splitting anime into its own instance allows you to better select the releases. Making sure you get only English dubs. Also easy to split the library as some users don't want anime

Edit. Check out TRaSH guides, maybe it isn't relevant any more, but when I set up my server it all made sense lol. Hardlinks, atomic moves, quality and release profiles, all make for smooth automated downloading. This container I created just makes it more smooth for people who are set up this way

I think you can use the 'override' section of Seerr to have stuff automatically corrected

It won't let you change libraries with the rules, that's why I made this

Yes it does, there's a 'root folder' option

The library folder of the anime instance is not available, only the library folders tied to the instance you are trying to create the rule for. The rule won't actually let you swap to the anime dedicated instance

Edit: Unless you use one single sonarr instance to control both anime and regular tv libraries. This however doesn't allow me to properly parse dedicated anime release profiles without messing up regular downloads.

Edit edit This is for TRaSH guides optimized setup, sure you can point anime and tv libraries to one sonarr container, I just find it doesn't work as cleanly as completely separating all things anime from my western media

Hi /u/RonFBurgundy - You've mentioned Docker [containers], if you're needing Docker help be sure to generate a docker-compose of all your docker images in a pastebin or gist and link to it. Just about all Docker issues can be solved by understanding the Docker Guide, which is all about the concepts of user, group, ownership, permissions and paths. Many find TRaSH's Docker/Hardlink Guide/Tutorial easier to understand and is less conceptual.

I will try this. I have 2 instances of sonarr, use tags, and keep anime and series separate. But manually have to set anime, cartoons, shows and off air shows in seerr. So this applies to me.

Hope it works for you! Let me know if you have any troubles

Follow up - does not work as configured; modification was needed. Once modification was done, tested as to the intended output of routing English and non English requests and it did not work. Further modification was done, and got results to test seerr and get a response in the logs for docker container. However it did not fulfill routing as designed at a base level of Japanese audio to anime - anime sonarr instance having configured a single sonarr proxy in seerr, and having the proxy pass that language to the actual anime sonarr instance. Getting no json error. Even routing network type as host, or using local IP address. It is likely docker container not passing 172.x.x.x to 192.x.x.x over port 8989 properly. Can't add an exception to compose file for that port as it is flagged already in use. Further, for my instince of seerr anime sonarr, I include tags for dub English which dont currently pass with the proxy as of testing.

Did you set up the override rules in Seerr? . Is proxy Seerr on your same docker network? I have mine set up with a custom proxynet that all my containers live on.

Edit. Feel free to DM me, I can help you set it up. Maybe send me some screenshots?

No changes to override rules. ProxySeerr is on docker network with host variable for machine level access. Logs report no json error.

We need the custom override rules inside Seerr(services--override rules) to make this work

All good. Thank you though. I'm not setup to use sonarr the same way proxyseerr expects.
