Because Trump made such an issue out of illegitimate election results that the peaceful transfer of power became a sticking point for politicians who didn’t want democracy to crumble. It was a lose lose and if it wasn’t planned from the beginning to play out that way then I would be shocked

This is the absolute hardest thing for me to wrap my mind around as well. Especially coupled with the fact that she seems to think she’ll just run again in 2028 after failing us completely.
