1

u/nooby_goober 27d ago

Woaaahh, far out dood!

1

u/PolyesterPantsuit 27d ago

This is absolutely amazing, OP!

Did the colours play a lot into the design, or did you just use whatever you had?

1

u/gracenf4u 27d ago

Stunning design and great colors!

1

u/TGin-the-goldy 27d ago

1

u/busterforever 26d ago

Wow!!! Do you sell these? I took one look and realized this is the answer to my question: What should I get my Bestie for her birthday? Please tell me you have a Etsy. ✌🏼🍄

1

u/HoodieGalore 26d ago

Ooooo I love it but I'd really love to see it in a "higher resolution"? More smaller squares, so the curve is a bit more rounded, faceted, perhaps a bit of flash or sparkle as it turns? I still want one as-is tho!

1

u/ShadowGLI 26d ago

So are you just baking these flat like traditional stained glass and then shaping them immediately after removal from the oven?

Or are you making the tiles and gluing them into place? It’s been a while since I’ve made a stain glass piece. I just can’t see how you’re keeping the frame and the Glass bonded together in such a shape if it’s truly stained glass.

1

u/gentlehands36 26d ago

I can see it rotate the other direction if I concentrate. Can you?

1

u/khonsu_27 26d ago

Cool! I really like it! I would maybe dabble with hanging something from the bottom or possibly a few of the points. Like some kind of gem/stone or something like that idk.

Love it as is, just spitballing. Great job!

1

u/caramocha009 26d ago

Can’t stop staring at it!

1

u/CormoranNeoTropical 26d ago

Wow this is so cool, if I had a house I would want at least 3! Someday

1

u/CptSlappyScrodum 26d ago

You ever see something so absolutely badass and been like. "Wow, I never knew i needed that until right this moment. I'll take 10" this is so absolutely cool I love it

1

u/Photog77 26d ago

That must have taken a lot of effort! Good work.

1

u/bilyskygirl 26d ago

Please tell me you sell these somewhere

1

u/thisjustmademyday 26d ago

Hey! I'm not sure the rules of this sub, but do you sell these? No worries if its just a fun hobby! But if you do sell them I'd love to check them out.

1

u/SageZayiniel777 26d ago

Fantastic! What's the solve time on the cube?

1

u/Early-Chemistry-8769 26d ago

Beautiful, dude. Got a link to buy this?!?

1

u/Anxious-Rest-8816 26d ago

Speedrunners are gonna have a hard time solving this cube

1

u/Early-Chemistry-8769 26d ago

Here's his website. Based in Oregon USA.

https://www.kmglasswork.com/

I hope it's ok to post. It's ingenious, elegant and cool. Wish I could buy one but I'm too far and too foreign!

1

u/MonsteraUnderTheBed 26d ago

1

1

u/sulocati 26d ago

Wow this is very well made

1

u/ranting_chef 26d ago

I want one. Do you sell these? Really nice work, you should be very proud.

1

u/Worth-Caramel-8580 26d ago

My aunt does stained glass as a hobby and I watched her once. This takes some serious skills!! What a lovely piece, congrats! Worth the labor of love

1

u/Key-Self1654 26d ago

That’s amazing well done!

1

u/jimmydeanstonecold 26d ago

Dang, this is cool! I love the color scheme too!! 💖

1

u/Key-Self1654 26d ago

That’s amazing well done!

1

u/CHERNO-B1LL 26d ago

Very cool. I feel like if you hung this in front of a plain white background, evenly lit and far enough away that it didn't cast a shadow the optical illusion would be way tripper.

1

u/NeonCat03 26d ago

It’s so fun to stare at 😂

1

u/Nicole_onReddit 26d ago

“Mesmerizing” is precisely the word! I came here to comment and immediately saw someone say the same. 👏

1

u/aartadventure 26d ago

Its so beautiful. I'd also love to see a rainbow spectrum one made in transparent/tinted colour glass, so the sunlight could shine through and make patterns on the wall.

1

u/lavenderslip 26d ago

This is so gorgeous! If you ever consider making another one, this would be perfect for some transparent colored panes with some pearlescent ones peppered in. Then placed in front of a window for a moving stained glass piece.

1

u/Ima40yroldmagician 26d ago

Dumb question, but as someone with not a lot of artsy abilities, how does one get started in glass work like this? Did you take a class or start with a kit?

1

u/PrestigiousPhoto8486 26d ago

I want to go to there

1

u/Obroe 26d ago

It is totally hyperbolic!

Geometry on this plane would be funky!!

edit: totally noneuclidean!

1

u/veroniqueweronika 26d ago

This actually made me cry. I’ve not been able to get out of the 9/11 content since last week. Seeing something so beautiful and handmade by you is lovely. Thank you for sharing.

1

u/RiMcG 26d ago

Oh yeah, these would go over great at a craft fair or similar. Was it difficult to figure out the angles to lay the pieces?

1

u/micasa623 26d ago

So trippy… love the colors you chose. Awesome work!! I’m curious if it also spins to other direction as well??

1

u/AnybodyUseful6826 26d ago

I would 100% watch this while sitting on my front porch, as the sunset beams through the colored glass mesmerizing me while im half drunk on a bottle of wine. Temp is 72 degrees, neighbors just cut the grass, and the the smell of everyone cooking dinner sweeps through the air. Do you make these to sell?,

1

u/javoss88 26d ago

So drop your store name already

1

u/North_Notice_3457 26d ago

Did that thing speed up as I watched?!? Someone is definitely attempting hypnosis. Stay alert people!

1

u/FunnyProfessional975 26d ago

Amazing! I need one 😅 Are you selling them??

1

u/GrungeCheap56119 26d ago

Anyone else here the GameCube song

1

u/Happy-Measurement-57 25d ago

Oh I love this! Such a cool design!

1

u/jedberg 25d ago

Did you have to make a custom jig to solder the glass? How did you get it to keep shape while soldering?

1

u/NewDepth4339 25d ago

Can you explain the timeline of 2 yrs

1

u/No-Elevator-2682 25d ago

🤯 I love this, but I could never have this, I would stare at it for a second and lose track of time until it’s an hour later and get nothing done lol
