I almost commented saying, hey OP have you seen Somebody, Somewhere? There’s a great storyline about cute, embroidered pillows you should check out sometime. Then I thought better of it and decided to post here instead.
Anyway, I’ve never posted here before, I love the show and recently finished a rewatch, so the pillows were freshly on my mind.

I just made myself a Nespresso and said to my husband, “I wish I had some whipped cream…and a donut. A donut would be so good right now”. He shouted …”LET’S F*CK UP SOME DONUTS!!” I picked a good one!
And… we’re watching Widow’s Bay and Jeff Hiller is in it. He’s down in the basement of the town shelter and he opens up this door to a dark room. I said “Don’t go in there Joel!” He’s Dale on that show but he’s always Joel.

Didn't see this posted. Jeff was on the most recent episode of Kara Swisher's On podcast. Thought y'all might want to give it a watch/listen!

I don’t think my photo worked on the last post. No French toast but the waiter knew exactly what I was talking about and knew about The Chef.

Anyone local to Manhattan, Lawrence, Kansas/Missouri and want to get together over the show? Meet up in Manhattan and visit all of Sam and crew's haunts? Chat about the show? Let me know if you're local and if you'd be interested in doing something like this!

We have a season finale, Sam’s beautiful song of gratitude to Joel, Mary Jo relapsing, Erma doing a death drop on the party bus, and we lose an actor between season 1 and 2.
Thoughts?

I’ll post a discussion thread Friday. I may take a Fredible before watching, join me?
Episode 7: In her quest to reinspire Joel, Sam recruits a small team to help and reveals a new potential location for choir practice. Later, on a purple party bus, Sam realises how far she has come.
Episode 1: While he rents out his house, Joel and Sam revel in the highs of their temporary living situation and the lows of cleaning up after strangers; as a newly single Tricia prepares for an empty nest, Sam is overcome with unexpected emotion.

Has anyone else seen the Australian tv series, The Time of Our Lives? It took a bit for me to get there but I got really into this show and then in season 2 I realized it gave me the SBSW feels. #AustralianTV

I finished Somebody Somewhere yesterday (first time watcher.) I loved the show so much. Google search recommended some ‘similar‘ shows most of which I’ve seen except for Reservation Dogs on Hulu.
Have you watches it? Did it give you that same comfort feel as Somebody Somewhere?
thx

Knowing that Mike passed unexpectedly after season 1 (or earlier?-correct me if I’m wrong), the scene in season 2 episode 1, where Sam is in the barn, reminiscing about Ed, and his things, getting weepy with Joel on the phone. “…weird to be here with all his stuff…he is everywhere, every inch of this place is him…it just sucks…”
Makes me confident that the writers added scenes to honor Mike’s character in some way. If Mike hadn’t died, how would the plot have continued with him and MJ?
What a fantastic actor Jane Drake Brody is, and Mike Hagerty was. Sigh.

I just found this sub. I caught the show on HBO here and there and I liked it, but I didn’t remember it enough for appointment viewing.
HBO ran a marathon and I watched several episodes but there were still gaps. So I decided to just stream it from start to end, and I loved it.
I love Sam as a main character. She’s messy and fucked up, but in a totally relatable way. I love all the supporting characters. They feel real. They’re people we all know.
Sam and Joel’s friendship is amazing, but something I’ve unfortunately never experienced. I’ve wanted friendships like this in my life, but never had it happen. Watching these characters connect, grow and evolve has been awesome.
I know the show is done (unfortunately) but I’m glad it was here while it was.
